No Spa for treatments
We booked the hotel as it had a Spa with massages etc. I tried phoning only to get answer phone in Germany so sent an email asking to book 2 massages. I received no reply. Upon check in we were told they had no massage facilities for the past 3 years but it’s on their German website with even prices etc. The toilet seat was covered with huge yellow stains so asked for it to be changed which they did. The fridge looked quite dirty so only used it for drinks. All in all it’s definitely not a 4* hotel.

This hotel is located on the Rhine River. It’s conveniently located near supermarkets, restaurants, banks, and anything else you could ask for or need. It’s a very beautiful historical town and I look forward to coming again and I would definitely stay at this hotel.

Overnight stay in Rees
We enjoyed a relaxing overnight stay here, prior to catching a flight home from Weeze airport. It was very pleasant to have drinks on the sunny terrace overlooking the Rhine before a delicious dinner in the restaurant. The breakfast selection was good and service for both meals was efficient. Our room was comfortable, but with the very warm weather, air conditioning would have been helpful. All staff were friendly and helpful and we received a warm welcome when we arrived at reception.

A double standard
Wonderful room, clean and comfortable. Right on the Rhine with great views. The downside was the restaurant. The food was good but the service was abominable, the very worst we encountered during three weeks in Europe. Stay here but eat elsewhere.

Great for Tourists Terrible for Business
Right on the Rhine, in a small German town with few but reasonable restaurants and a REWE. Very picturesque area and the hotel has good services for a restaurant, bar, etc. The problem is that the staff couldn't keep the wireless working, and if internet access for today's modern business or personal needs is a must for you, then this is not the place to stay. They claim to be undergoing a major IT revamp in Jan 2015, but that didn't help us much while we wasted a lot of time trying to get online at the hotel and then travelling to find viable hotspots. Nearest public wireless we found is 8 Km one way and 15 Km the other; both at McDonalds. Recommendation: Look for a place in Xanten first. Great restaurants, several full service hotels for both Business and Tourism , and a lot of tourism benefits.

Need to come back again!
We stayed only one night, but I wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel is in a beautiful setting right on the Rhine River, with a waterfront walk nearby, surrounded by parkland. We were visiting in Emmerich, the next town up the river, so really didn't spend much time in the hotel or in Rees. The room was very large and comfortably furnished, although the elevator was kind of cramped (not uncommon in Europe, we've learned).

Great value hotel with excellent breakfast
Would have been excellent if we'd had a room with good view of the Rhine - as I'd asked for. The classifications from "Pleasing" to "Superb" is too big a gap! I would rate this hotel as very good - better than pleasing....but not superb

Scenic location along the Rhine.
My first visit to Rees, and very pleasantly surprised about the town and the hotel. Very scenic with a fabulous view of the Rhein from the very good restaurant. Hotel standard is very good for the low price I paid

Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen. Teppichboden in den Zimmern ist nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Aber dafür war das Zimmer schön groß. Frühstück war leider auch nicht gut. Pluspunkt ist ganz klar die Lage am Rhein.

Tolle Lage direkt am Rhein, aber die Zimmer sind schon etwas älter von der Einrichtung her. Eher einfacher Standard. Dafür war der Preis echt günstig.

Wir hatten im Hotel ein erstaunlich gut ausgestattetes, großes Zimmer, mit großem Bad. An Sauberkeit war nichts zu bemängeln, ebenso an dem sehr zuvorkommenden Personal. Wir hatten das Hotelzimmer wegen einer Hochzeitsfeier in der Nähe gebucht und haben dort leider nur eine Nacht verbracht. Es lohnt sich wiederzukommen. Tolle Lage direkt am Rhein. Beim Frühstück Blick auf den Rhein, das hat hat uns sehr gut gefallen.
