“Just OK”
We have stayed here many times, we don't own and don't plan to- It's a good atmosphere activities daily at the pool, families and kids. We do not do all inclusive, stock our kitchen from wal mart eat out for dinner. If you do not own, you do not get a good room. Too bad, because of that we might not be back. Room was nasty smelling, mold and pee. Yuck keep the slider open, but that was better than the first room which was located with a view of the office and next to the band stand. Honestly it just feels like it has gone down hill a bit. Happy hour drinks skip them over sweet slurp, tastes like syrup. Check your bill when you leave and keep your receipts if you are not on all inclusive, the hotel is good about taking off additional charges if you have your receipt. Staff is great, timeshare everywhere including airport, transportation, hotel, waiters at restaurant in town- be aware. We are going to try a new hotel for our next trip we were loyal to this hotel but it is time to step up to a nicer room. Pal Mar needs to maintain their rooms and update a few things like the moldy shower curtain. Cabo is fun, expensive but fun and safe - ride the local buses much cheaper and get to meet local people.
“Some good, some bad”
Stayed for a week and a half in November 2011. The staff (girls) that talk to you after you have checked in are totally relentess - all you want to do is get to your room and they are all over you to attend "information sessions". If you say "no thanks" they will call you, call you and call you. If you continue to say "no thanks" they actually stuck a note under our door. The timeshare sellers are everywhere and it gets to be too much after a few days of being offered "deals" at every turn. When we asked for no housekeeping one day, we rec'd 3 phone calls asking if you wanted housekeeping. Restaurants are pricey, but food was good. Rooms are not very soundproof, but on the plus side were well stocked. The tipping and automatic tipping they put on your bill is way out of control. Also, what is up with the price of cabs (especially) and transit services in Cabo...............too much money for too little service. Would I return?..................probably not.
“TOO Spring Break Like”
If you are in your 20s or 30s and are looking to get drunk, act out, and never leave the resort area, then this is for you. The staff was very polite and attentive, but a lot of the patrons were obnoxious. The whole timeshare spiel was also irritating, but I suspect that is pervasive, not just limited to this resort..
“First time in Cabo”
We had a great experience at this hotel. We did the all inclusive and took full advantage of it. The hotel has nice places to eat, nice pools and a nice beach. We got a great deal on Expedia and they also gave us great advice on getting out of the airport without hassle by "land sharks".
“very impressed”
Loved our stay here, I highly recommend the all inclusive, We did not pay for anything except our souveners and local white bus fare to town. only 60 pesos each way vs $7 for taxi. There was constant pressure for time share presentation, but a polite no was all we needed to say. Swam in the ocean every day. all food and drinks included on beach too. there are many vendors on beach asking you to buy there wares, but again we just said no thanks. Both pools were nice, but got very crowded by noon. I will go back for sure. Loved the snorkeling and parasailing.. Beware on the road to Todos Santos, all dirt and under construction about 45 miles. Nice quiet town.
“Wonderful vacation”
The only problem was that we spent only 5 days total. Not enough time, since the first and last day don't really count. Next time, we will book the whole week!
“Very nice place, we go there often!”
We enjoy Palmar and have been there several times. We did encounter a very bad problem with mold in our room this trip. In two days it grew so bad. The assistant manager was clueless and said you cant get sick unless you eat it. After i scolded her ignorance and told her to bring the doctor on site to explain the effects of mold she quickly moved us to an ocean view room across the way. Other than this we received very good service and the place is very clean. Great location and very good value. We will most likely return.
“enjoyable vacation”
This was a very adequate, enjoyable experience with two young children. However, we chose this hotel because it advertized a "swimable beach" .Unfortunately this was not the case as the waves were ferocious and the undertow strong. While having dinner one night at the restaurant at the beach we watched a young man getting into difficulties. He was eventually brought onto the shore but had died.
“Classy resort with a Great Bargain through Expedia!”
After a 6 hour flight delay and missing unlit driveway at 10pm, we were so excited to be upgraded to a 1 room suite from a jr. suite. I assume our room was located under a kitchen because our hallway always smelt like old greasy cooking and there were loud kitchen noises throughout the night. Otherwise, great view of beach, great location, easy access to other areas by car, comfy room, fun poolside activities, wonderful concierge, great experience. Not really walking distance to town, mall, or marina.
“Can't wait to go again”
Overall the Hotel was great :) ... I did not like the fact that you were unable to pay in cash at the restaurants in the hotel. Always had to charge my card which cost me extra fees thru my bank. Next time I would take a prepaid card or go on a all inclusive trip. The location was great and very laid back. Great for Families and couples. I went with my boyfriend and we had a very relaxing time.
