Recreation
Four heated, freeform, natural-style pools lined with faux-granite, edged by flagstone, and crossed by rustic log-railing and stone bridges, supply year-round swimming. Three lie along the beachfront. One measures 76 meters long (250 ft), includes an upper-level children's pool separated by a rock waterfall, and is paired with a 15-person ocean-view spa tub. Another measures 61 meters (200 feet), features a beach entry and an infinity edge and is paired with a five-person spa tub and an elevated toddlers' pool. The third measures 52 meters (170 feet) and includes an upper-level basketball area.
A fourth pool measuring 88 meters (290 ft) on three levels lies adjacent to Cabo del Sol's Ocean golf course. Separated by a rock waterfall, the upper level is for children, while the lower-level section features a swim-up bar and a bridge leading to a mid-pool, 15-person spa tub with flagstone-waterfall sides. The mid-level has a beach entry and is paired with a five-person spa tub.
Although it's ideal for strolling and sunbathing, the undulating beach is not safe for swimming because of rocks and powerful undertows. Safe swimming and water sports are available at Médano Beach near downtown Cabo San Lucas 10 km (6.25 mi) away. Guests enjoy complimentary access to the Cabo del Sol development's four lighted tennis courts in daytime, with a surcharge for after-dark play. Whale-watching excursions are available from Cabo San Lucas during the January-March migration of gray whales.
The Cabo del Sol development features a 40,000-square-foot clubhouse and two golf courses, Desert, designed by Tom Weiskopf, and Ocean, designed by Jack Nicklaus, with discounts and complimentary shuttle service for resort guests. A golf concierge also books tee times at Los Cabos' other major courses. Distances are: The Raven Golf Club 8 km (5 mi); Cabo Real Golf Course 10 km (6.25 mi); Palmilla Golf Course 16 km (10 mi).

“hacienda setting extremely relaxing, very impressed”
My wife and I are very pleased with the hacienda setting. The people are very hospitable and friendly. Although pricey, its location and accommodation are very satisfying. Very recommendable overall!
“Great destination hotel”
I was at the Hacienda Del Mar for 9 days early this September. I was pleasantly surprised by the high overall standard and quality of the staff, the rooms and the facility generally. There are some great swimming pools here if you like that sort of thing, and a very well equipped gym. (The beach out front is not safe for swimming but still lovely to see.) One drawback, HDM is off the main road a ways, and the shuttle to Cabo itself though available is an added expense. The restaurants and food are good to very good, though also pricey, as to be expected when a place is a little isolated -- a fair room credit took the edge off this problem. All in, this is one of the premier Cabo resort hotels, not over the top luxury, but very very nice, and did I mention I got a real off season bargain on it?
“Quiet, comfortable & relaxing location”
We loved the beach and its wave action. The hotel was charming, felt more like a village than a hotel. Staff very friendly. Weather perfect! Shuttle to Cabo San Lucas ($10 RT) pretty convenient.
“Wonderful stay.”
We had a wonderful 6 night stay at the Sheraton Hacienda. Fabulous location with expansive beach - good for beach walking if that is important to you. In addition, multiple pools, gorgeous well-tended grounds, friendly, respectful staff, immaculate throughout. As two women traveling alone we felt very safe the entire time. A nice variety of restaurants from which to choose and a handy store on the time share side of the property had many more things than the store just off the lobby. Checkout was a breeze. I had requested a copy of the bill in the morning so I could review it before actual check out time, and all was in order. When I asked, they happily converted the pesos to USD. I would highly recommend this resort and would go back again.
“very nice overall experience”
The location of the hotel was excellent, 10 min. ride to the marina. Food and drinks were good, but very expensive. Service was very good. The pools and spa were great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and we will be back next year.
“One of the nicer hotels in all of Mexico”
This hotel had an old world spanish style that felt like you were staying in a villa. This coupled with newer luxury homes surrounding the hotel felt like we were in a one of the private resorts. Would definitely go back and recommended it to others.
“No complaints here”
Recent 7 night stay at Sheraton Hacienda del Mar was pleasant and relaxing. Check in and check out were problem free...I advoided the time share people. Concierge service was excellent. OV room was perfect. Food and drink prices were too high, but in line or lower than similar hotels.
“Beautiful hotel/grounds”
Relaxing/beautiful hotel
“Paradise resort”
This was my first visit to Cabo and it exceeded my expectations 10 times over. The Sheraton resort was pure paradise! Fantastic pool, gorgeous restaurants and a wonderful spa! Be prepared to spend money though, it's expensive!
“This is a Hotel to Return to”
perfect location, timeshare opportunities, great pool(s), good food, drinks good. Service excellent, cleanliness superb. restaurants are awesome with high ratings and one of the best steak houses on Cabo. restaurants have awesome views too
