First time Cabo vacation

Posted 23-Apr-2014
Hotel is nestled in sea cliff with beautiful view of ocean. Location was excellent ...secluded yet within walking distance of downtown and attractions. Hotel nicely renovated. Food at the inclusive Don Diego restaurant was buffet style with elaborate dishes and many choices. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. We would highly recommend this resort.

Perfect Location!!!

Posted 22-Apr-2014
The Sandos Finisterra is in a great location! Walk to the marina, walk to lover's/divorce beach, walk to downtown Cabo San Lucas! The resort is in excellent condition. Authentic Mexico feel with modern touches. The food was good minus the poolside restaurant. I would highly recommend Emiliano's, it was fantastic! Overall the Finisterra is a great choice.

Great hotel, close to town.

What a great trip. Hotel was wonderful. The food was the best I've had at an all inclusive. We ended up eating at the resort every night. The spa was awesome and relaxing. The views were so beautiful, the photos dont do them justice. We will be back next year. Thanks Sandos Finesterra for giving us a great vacation!!!!!

Beautiful place to stay

Posted 21-Apr-2014
Pros: Beautiful place, great views, quick taxi ride to downtown and walking distance to the marina
Location: Built on top of a rocky mountain overlooking the marina and the pacific ocean on the other side. Close to Arches and downtown.
Showed up and some how got upgraded to a suite. Had 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living, dining and a separate master suite, big patio right on the beach. Restaurants were amazing built on top of the mountain overlooking the marina. Seemed too good to be all inclusive. We had a amazing time there and will go back for sure.

Awesome Cliff Experience

Posted 18-Apr-2014
The rooms were all oceanview. The higher the better. Don Diego was the place to eat...healthy, delicious and great ambiance. Don't leave there without visiting cupcake or one of the three pools! Awesome getaway but close to downtown and the beach.

Accessibility to marina, shops, hotel venues

Posted 18-Apr-2014
Pros: Access to the restaurants, pools, spa and workout facility and the excellent lattes at the Cupcake Cafe. Being greeted by friendly staff each day.
Cons: The lobby. It is not a welcoming area, although staff were always friendly.
Location: Being so close to the marina and shops was great, as well as being able to walk to a beautiful beach.
The view of the marina from our balcony was one we enjoyed each morning and evening. Steps away from our room was the Cupcake Cafe with excellent lattes and cappuccinos. The rough Pacific ocean at the front of the hotel gave us the enjoyment of the strength of the ocean, while a short walk took us to the Sea of Cortez and a beautiful beach to enjoy the day. The only criticism I will share is that the front lobby does not feel welcoming. It is dark, feels cold and does not have the inviting "feeling" of the rest of the hotel. When our designated concierge realized we were not interested in booking activities "immediately" upon our arrival, she became very dismissive, and we did not feel comfortable seeking her out later to book activities or ask questions. Eduardo, the Expedia representative was engaging, helpful and available for questions and assistance. We enjoyed the activities he helped us book including the sunset sail on our last evening. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Finisterra is very nice...and great location!

Posted 17-Apr-2014
We had a wonderful time at Finisterra. The hotel was clean and all of the staff were very friendly. The pools are very nice and the food is good. I can't really comment on the "mixed drinks".....I stuck to beer and my wife had wine. However, I will say that the Cupcake Cafe's espresso and lattes were wonderful. We went there each morning and then took our coffee to Don Diego's for breakfast. We ate at the Italian restaurant once and it was OK...not really anything special compared to the buffet. Also, you do not have to wear slacks to the Italian restaurant...just don't go with swim suits and you should be fine. We also enjoyed the Whale Watching Bar....it's out of way and not very visible...so it was never crowded....it is extremely nice and the view is incredible! Probably the best thing about Finisterra is the location. We hiked the mountain to get to lover's beach twice and also walk to the marina/shops every single night...very easy 5 minute walk. The hotel had theme nights while we were there...Latin night and a Mexican fiesta. They really did a great job and I felt bad for the hotel as not very many folks attended either event.

Very clean and convenient location

Posted 17-Apr-2014
Pros: I did not feel pressured to participate in timeshare presentations.
Cons: The beds were a little uncomfortable and firm.
Location: The hotel was within walking distance to everything.
Its an older hotel that has been renovated and was recently purchased by new management. The staff was great, the place was clean and the food was pretty good for all inclusive.

Great Hotel

Posted 15-Apr-2014
Cons: The beach should be swimmable
Everything was great, however, you have to walk to the beach. The hotel is on a beach but it is not a swimmable beach. The walk to the nearest swimmable beach (Medano Beach) takes about 20 minutes.
