“Would Highly Recommend This Hotel”
We have traveled to almost every popular Mexican location and we would highly recommend the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. The rooms were very nice, comfortable, and clean. The food was delicious and we ate everything without incident. The grounds were beautiful and we could have spent our entire vacation at the resort and been happy. The service was great and everyone very friendly. We enjoyed the spa and pool area immensely.
“First Time to Cabo - It was Great”
It was me with my 16 year old daughter and her friend. Our first time to Cabo (actually, first time to any Mexican resort area). Cabo was great. The Sunset Beach resort was great, too. It's particularly fine if you're looking to get away from the action a little. It's on the Pacific side so you can't swim in the ocean (my daughter and her friend were disappointed about that). And, it's not close to the downtown or the marina or the water sports activities. There's a shuttle hourly to Pueblo Bonito Rose which is located right in the heart of all this activity. We wound up spending most of our waking hours at Rose. This isn't too much of a hassle (although the shuttle buses can fill up sometimes, so get your ticket early!). The PB Sunset Beach is a beautiful setting. The service was great. It's windier on this side of the peninsula, but the pools have wind protection. Electrical power went out for about an hour one evening (no idea if this is common; no explanation was ever offered). For adults - Sunset Beach is outstanding. If you've got teens (or even pre-teens), they'll probably prefer Rose.
“Simply fantastic!”
What a beautiful property! This resort had everything we were looking for for a one-week vacation with our 6 and 7 year old children. The grounds were stunning. Our third floor / top floor master suite was remarkably spacious, nicely-designed and well-maintained, and had an expansive balcony that was perfect for room service. The several pools throughout the resort were wonderful, and the variety was fun. The food was terrific, albeit at typical high end resort prices, and there were a number of dining options (we tried them all, and were glad we did). The wine was particularly pricey (frequently 4x-5x retail in the States), owing primarily to oppressive duties when the wine is imported into Mexico, we were told. Some of the Mexican wines were interesting, although also more expensive than you might find here at retail (if you are able to do so). The resort is unmistakeably private, secluded and away from the throngs in Cabo, although only a 10 minute cab ride away. The tennis courts were well maintained, and the beach volleyball was fantastic (a fair amount of young talent made it out each day). Our children were also able to take a 45-minute introductory scubadiving class in the pool one morning, and simply loved it. While we are not the time-share type, and therefore did not accept an invitation (extended shortly after check-in) to a time-share presentation, we would highly recommend this resort, and will no doubt return someday.
“Pueblo Bonita Sunset Beach”
This hotel was beautiful. Every room has an ocean view. The pools wer excellent and the entire staff was very friendly and helpful. If you are looking to swim in the ocean, you will need to stay on the Sea of Cortez side of Cabo, this hotel is on the Pacific Ocean. I would 100% recommend this hotel.
“Baja Mexico's Best Getaway”
Pueblo Bonita Sunset Beach is a world class hotel located in a wonderful area of Mexico. For a popular tourist destination resort, it was phenomenal. It far exceeded our expectations from the carefully manicured grounds and the choice of restaurants to our large junior suite and the friendly and excellent service. They also have an incredible spa on the property as well as a large fitness center and daily classes. It is a beautifully maintained property cut into the side of a hillside - absolutely breathtaking at sunset. (The beach scenes in Troy were filmed there if that gives you any idea of the beauty of the property.) Although you cannot swim in the ocean there, it does not matter with three pools on the property with excellent wait staff and reasonable prices for poolside food and drinks. There is a complimentary shuttle that will take you to downtown Cabo (about a 7 minute ride) where you have privledges at its two sister resorts that are on the Sea of Cortez for swimming and other water sports. The La Frida restaurant is five stars and a real dinner treat with candles, glass and plenty of ambiance. We loved our time there and will definitely go back to the Pueblo Bonita Sunset Beach again. My husband and I agreed it was our best vacation ever!
“Read this about Lover's Cove”
First of all. this is a very nice hotel. The pools are heated and so nice and they have Happy Hour from 3-5! The hotel was exactly like the pictures in Expedia. There is a kitchenette so do bring food and your own coffee and you will save. The restaurants are pricey - although delicious. The Bistro is the least expensive. Note: Be careful if you are going to go to Lover's Cove. You need to take a boat to get there and jump off and on onto the beach in the middle of very strong waves and rocks. We witnessed a man being crushed between the rocks and the boat. The waves were so strong the boat was being crushed against the rocks with familes on board. We did hear about a place later on that was safe for snorkling - you should ask about it. This hotel is about 10 mins from town, so take the free shuttle that goes to PB Rose and walk into town from there.
“Would return in a Heartbeat”
My Husband and I celebrated 25 years together in June at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. Wow what a beautiful property and amazing service all of the staff was hard working and very attentive to our needs. The pacific side of Los cabos is cooler than the sea of cortez side so the temperture was about 90 everyday. I would return in a Heartbeat! We plan on returning next year "Same Time Same Place" Cheers!
“Awesome”
This hotel leaves no stone unturned when it comes to comfort and customer service. Would definately go back.
“Very Nice Resort but disliked the Time Share Pressure”
My husband and I spent our honeymoon there and spent most of the time enjoying the resorts beach, pool, and restaurants. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the Margaritas "kicked butt". The only complaint we had was that we felt pressured into sitting in on a time share presentation and the salesperson was aggressive and became very unpleasant when we did not purchase a time share. It left a bad impression with us the rest of our trip. Additionally, we felt that the shuttle drop off was a long distance from downtown Cabo, in which you have to walk thru a questionable neighborhood to get there. We would suggest a shuttle drop off and pick up somewhere en route to their sister hotel.
“The Perfect Honeymoon”
Sunset Beach is paradise. You & your significant other &/or family members will enjoy this locaton. From the gorgeous architecture (built not too long ago) to the swim up bar/restaurant pools, my new husband & I had a blast. If we wanted to take part in a social, adventurous excursion we called 'Baja Wild' which provides kyaking, ATV trips, surfing & snorkeling. If we wanted to read a book & enjoy an ice cold drink, we rolled out of our King Size bed after a night of hearing the waves crashing & walked 10 feet to one of the three outstanding pools. We recommend Sunset Beach to everyone, young or old.
