“A cozy little place far from all the drunken tourists”
When we first checked in, we were about to check right out because the only entrance to each room is a sliding glass patio door. It didn't look safe, and the front desk clerk said he could only give us a single key to use. But we decided to wait and see how we felt after the first day. The place slowly grew on us and when we ended up liking it a whole lot. The toilet flushes. The shower is good, and the air-conditioner hums along nice and quiet and keeps everything cool. Clientele appears to be traveling Mexican tourists from other states and Mexican businessmen. You won't find any spring break coeds here or very many other Americans for that matter. It's quiet and low-key. It's about a ten-minute walk to the waterfront and all the tourist action, but we had a rental car so that didn't really matter, but something to consider if you're going to be on foot without a car. All in all a nice place!
“Hotel Sante Fe met our needs”
This hotel is modern and comfortable. The pool was refreshing and they provided a queen bed and another fold-out bed. Our only problem is the bed's were extremely hard (most hotel beds in mexico seem to be). Also, the toilet leaked which made the bathroom smell badly. Otherwise it was a nice enough hotel that is only a 20 minute walk from clubs and restaurants.
“Good value if you set your expectations accordingl”
The Hotel Santa Fe is a great bargain hotel. It's a smaller place, with no elevator, but is secluded in the middle of "downtown" Cabo. It's about a 4 city block walk to the Marina, and is very safe to walk no matter day or night. They have a convenience store and a small cafe/restaurant right on site. The pool is a good size and is nice, but it doesn't get sun for a very long portion of the day. The rooms leave a little to be desired, but they were quiet and clean and had individual remote control a/c units in each room that blasted cold air! I would definitely recommend staying at the Santa Fe for budget traveler who is isn't looking for the amenities of the Ritz and wants to stay close to the Marina.
“hotel santa fe review”
If you are on a budget stay here.
“Hotel Santa Fe a good bargain with simple ammenities”
As many previous reviews have stated, this little hotel is a simple jewel in Cabo San Lucas. It's not fancy, and yes, the beds are AWFULLY firm, but the room had cable TV, A/C, stove, fridge, toaster oven, simple dishes & pots/pans (for long stays, go to the local Costco or larger stores and get an inexpensive eggshell foam mattress pad, then leave it when you go home). My maid was TERRIFIC, & as I spoke Spanish and left a modest tip for her each day, I was treated to anything extra I asked for. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It's a pretty quiet location, 5-6 blocks from downtown, but there's bus service out front and taxi's. Bottled water and basic foods/ necessities were available at the little onsite mini-mart. I never ate at the little on-site cafe, so I can't give a comment on it. It also had excellent security all night!! Overall, I gotta' say, though a bit on the "well used" side, it's a clean, tidy little hotel with everything you need to enjoy a budget minded stay in Cabo San Lucas, so you can keep your $'s for those overpriced Margaritas!!
“good value”
For cabo, the hotel rate is a good deal. the staff is nice and willing to help. breakfast is everybody for themselves. good though.
“Hotel Santa Fe”
Overall experience with Hotel Santa Fe is okay. You can't beat the price but don't expect it to be a great hotel. If I were to go back to Cabo San Lucas I wouldn't stay in Santa Fe.
“Know what your getting in to”
The hotel is very shabby; mildewed showers, stained linens, towels shredding w/ holes. The room was good sized w/ kitchenette, toaster oven, stove, coffee maker and fridge. Great location in town close to great restaurants, a market and the marina (5/10 min walk) The pool is basically in the shade all day and was freezing cold. We had to end up in the parking lot to sit in the sun in the afternoon. Very nice, helpful staff w/ good english (much better than my spanish) Not too close to the beach, though there is a small beach behind the marina that seemed to be the closest.
“not impressed”
the hotel was nothing like the picture the room smelled old and musky and the toliet over flowed
“Not for tourists!”
I would not stay there ever again. If you are going to Cabo for vacation this is not the place to stay. The walls were paper thin and we could hear everything going on in the room next to us and the power kept going out. There were no other tourists in the hotel most the people seemed to live there. Also it was about a ten minute walk to town.
