“Second great stay at the Hola”
Great location, very clean and well maintained, food very good for an all inclusive resort property.
“Plan to return, had a great time and food was very good. Help outstanding!!!”
Great experience!!!!!
“Wonderfully uncrowded and not noisy; kids had a wonderful time too.”
Views were spectacular. Food was pretty unremarkable except for one of the specialty restaurants (Italian -- excellent). Staff friendly; extremely clean. This was a family wedding where about 70 people attended. What was great was the very relaxed atmosphere -- never shoddy -- everything in good taste. Lacking some of the super, super services (like no beauty salon), but for a family vacation this was more than excellent. We had people from 70s to 2 years old. While the Sea of Cortez is adjacent and there is a beautiful beach (very wide) , we were warned against swimming because of currents. Beautiful pools, including a salt water pool. None of the constant announcements and noise and music of some other all-inclusive resorts we have been to. All in all, I would be much inclined to return, but this is not the place for someone looking for night life every night, that is, unless you want to travel to Cabo San Lucas. Oh, also loved the little town of San Jose del Cabo -- great shopping (nice things), and excellent restaurants, should you get tired of the hotel fare. We also enjoyed Dolphin Adventure and sports fishing. Other than that, great place to really rest. Service very nice. Entertainment was good quality (band and singer). No one in our party had any real complaints. Rooms were very nice too.
“Wedding friendly!”
We came here for our wedding. They have a person designated for wedding planning (Larisa) and we brought 64 of our closest friends and family. The staff treated all of us with VIP attention! The food was great, with excellent selection. They have several pools and activities for kids and adults. We danced the night away at the bonfire, the hotel had a live band playing in the sand. The best part was that all the drinks were free, with good selection and variety of alcohol. They have several sit down restaurants with delicious Italian and Mexican gourmet-type of dining. They have tasty steak and fresh fish. They also have a wonderful breakfast buffet with freah fruit juices (green juic, papaya and melon juice, and decadent rich mexican style hot chocolate). They have cooks ready to make omelettes and french toast to your liking. What an experience! They also only do 1 wedding at a time, so I felt tile a princess the whole time. We explored other options, and even when we came to visit other places, they did not give us the same attention. This place also have reasonable prices for our family and friends. Also, the hotel was spacious, each with beautiful view of the ocean. Thank you Hola Grand Faro! We will come again and again...Also, thank you Larisa for the wonderful attention, you treated us like family!
“Fifth Time”
We've been coming to Hola Grand Faro for 4 years now. The beauty, service, maintenance and friendliness of this hotel is top notch. My daughter got married at "Hola" last week. We had over 50 guests for the wedding. Larisa is the wedding coordinator and did an awesome job of attending to every little detail to ensure a perfect wedding. The ceremony was on the beach at sunset. After the ceremony the reception was on the patio overlooking the Sea of Cortez. What a sureal setting for a marriage! The staff worked for hours setting up displays, beautiful linen tablecloths, sumptous buffet and great bar service complete with our own servers. Each guest made a point of telling the newlyweds what a beautiful ceremony, reception and dance it was. As I've been known to occasionally be over critical I spent some time reflecting on all the preparations and hard work that would have to go into the perfect wedding. My conclusion was from the initial conversation with Larisa last May until the day everyone left this little known bit of paradise nothing could have made the experience more perfect. We found paradise years ago at Hola. And now thanks to the wedding 50+ people have found it too. Thanks to all the friendly staff. Yvonne, Antonia & Krista for taking care of our needs at the pool. Jose & Alex did a great job organizing daily activities and to Eppi and all the smiling faces in the restaurants. We'll be back in the spring. Hola!
“Fifth visit in last four years”
We really enjoy the hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food is fresh, plentiful and satisfactory. Checkout time is a little early for us. You can stay up until noon with no extra charge. After that it is an additional $50 but you can check your luggage with the bellman and stay later. We will be going back..
“Really outstanding experience”
Our stay at the Hola Grand Faro was exceptional, and exceeded our expectations. The resort is well maintained, and is as clean as it gets (both the room and the public areas). Everybody - from the receptionists at the front desk, through the room service staff, to the cleaners and the waiters went out of their way to make our stay joyful and pleasant. We traveled with two young babies - a 3 months old and a two years old, and as soon as we arrived we were offered an upgrade to an ocean facing suite. We checked in advance if we can get cribs for little ones, and it saved us both hustle and money as flying cribs with us would have cost at least $100. The cribs looked and felt brand new. One day they didn't get to clean our room before our little ones had to take their nap. So the cleaner arrived when we went out for dinner to clean the room. There are 4 restaurants at the resort - all of which we tried and enjoyed. The upper scale Mexican and Italian restaurants were awesome - and the waiters really make a difference. It is really nice to have the opportunity to choose between a quick buffet dinner or a more delicate experience, especially when you travel with kids. They let our two years old into the kids club even though she is younger than the official age limit (as long as we stayed there to watch her). Many of the things (like restaurant reservations, other needs) go through the front desk, and their availability would make some of the airlines embarrassed
“Fabulous Hola Grand Faro!”
Hola Grand Faro is only 15 minutes from the airport and on an absolutely magnificent area of beach. We had a beautiful beach view from our room. The food is fabulous everywhere except the pool snack bar. The house wine is really good! The staff are very helpful and respectful. Though the resort was "full" we never had a problem finding just the right chair around the pool or at the beach and the restaurants were never full. I highly recommend the Hola Grand Faro!
“very nice place”
we went for a wedding and we were very happy with the staff and hotel. great place for a wedding
“Molly”
Loved Grand Faro! The main reason had to be the staff. I loved the activities director, Lucas. He was very fun and seemed to live at the hotel. The staff could read what I wanted and they were very respectful (except for the excursion lady...she seemed like she had something personal going on and was rude). There are plenty of things to do for free if you don't want to leave the hotel, don't be afraid to ask. There are several places to eat on the resort and at least one of them is almost always open so I did not go hungry. There are 2 restaurants included in the all inclusive that you have to make reservations at before 5 pm the day of the reservation. They are AMAZING. The waiters are fantastic and the food was extremely good (even vegetarian options). San Jose del Cabo was very safe. We were two white girls walking around and never felt unsafe or hassled on or off the resort. I love the town and go back in a heartbeat. Grand Faro is within walking distance of a little mall (5 minute walk), city center (25 minute walk), and on the beach. Best things about Grand Faro: Food, location, and Lucas. Worst things: A couple of obnoxious tourists which are inevitable at any Mexican resort. I traveled in June, low season, so it was very comfortable and relaxing. I also had all inclusive so I never had to worry about anything the whole time. Also, tip the staff. They make less a day than minimum wage for one hour of work in the States. A couple bucks is valued and appreciated.
