Extremely old and rundown. Filthy room. Zombies for employees. We expected less than perfect, but this was a new level of disappointment. Barstaff and waitstaff spent most of their time staring into computer screens. No customer service skills at all.The food was awful. There was no comfort to be had anywhere. The mattress had to be at least 20 years old and hard as cement. Bathroom was so small, miniature toilet and shower. No TV and no usable furniture. The grounds were so neglected, pool was unusable. It was rotted and missing thousands of tiles. It was so sad to see. It must have been beautiful at one time. There was no fishing available. It looked like a boat junk yard and no one would answer my question of when was the last time a boat was actually launched there. We planned to stay for 5 nights but left after 1 sleepless night and burned another day traveling to another location. We had been looking forward to visiting this resort for many years, but it was just to uncomfortable to stay.

Everything about this resort is awesome! Completely spring fed. Beautiful grounds. Pool and jacuzzi perfect temperature. Right on the beach. Excellent, excellent healthy food. Gourmet all the way. Not expensive. Staff very nice. 💯 would stay here again and again. Family owned for decades.

The rooms could definitely use updating. However the food and drinks are outstanding. The pool and chairs are very nice. Despite the rooms, we would go back.

Is the location and the grounds were phenomenal. Rooms were very dated looks like nineteen seventies or eighties. Definitely not wheelchair accessible. No television But the beach and grounds were Phenomenal. We stayed only one night on our way to La Paz. Did not try the internet. Overall, we're happy we stopped here. No TV's in the room.

Power was out at the resort for 1/2 of a day. I understand things can happen, but this was highly inconvenient for my short stay there. Also, WiFi was terrible/non-existent (even when power was on). I later learned at checkout you can get a room wifi repeater. This was not mentioned during check-in. As a traveling working professional, stable power and wifi is essentials.

Beds were comfortable and location on the beach is great. We had a hammock right outside our patio door. However, the bathroom needed lots of love and the hotel restaurant, while it served good food, was quite expensive.

The hotel is definitely a bit dated but it is clean and funky. The restaurant is absolutely fantastic (don’t miss Taco Tuesday!!) but every meal was yummy and good value! The beach is lovely and the hot spring spa pool is to die for— just be sure to check the schedule so you know when it is really hot from the refilling. The people who stayed here were also great and a fun vibe and the locals come to eat so you get a great mix of people. The staff was nice and friendly and they even have happy hour! They provide fresh spring water so you don’t have to buy it all the time!! Didn’t play pickleball here but the courts were new and in good shape— unfortunately they do charge you to play. Overall a really great place and value for the money!

This is an older property and the grounds could use some sprucing up, but the rooms are clean with nice linens and towels. It is on a beautiful beach where you can walk for miles and feel completely safe. The main attraction is sportfishing and there is also good snorkeling or you can rent ATVs. The pool bar and palapa provide a fun hangout spot with some shade. The food is great so consider the meal plan. The best though is the staff, many have worked there for decades. It is a true family business and everyone is so warm and friendly you will feel right at home.

Find a different hotel in Los Barriles
Please do yourself a favor and spend your money on a different hotel in Los Barriles which is a very close drive away. This is NOT a $200/night hotel — or at least shouldn’t be. I’m an avid, oftentimes solo traveler & rarely am I disappointed in my stays because I do my homework. This place had some mixed reviews, so I took a chance. Unfortunately. First, it’s a pain in the butt to find. There address is super wonky with Google maps & Apple directions. But I did finally find it. Unfortunately. Woman at reception put a $200 incidental hold on my card for a 1 night stay for 1 person in Mexico. Property is fine, but rooms are incredibly outdated, feel dingy & definitely didn’t feel secure. The door on my 1st room didn’t lock from outside. Woman at reception kept arguing it was key. It wasn’t — it was the door. Took 45 minutes to move me to 2nd equally depressing room. Walls are paper thin & place is full of seniors who loud talk & sound like they all have emphysema. You have to take a laminated card to the bar to retrieve your pool towel & bring towel back to swap for card. This is ridiculous at this price. There is NO wifi. Not by the pool or in the restaurant as advertised. NONE. I finally had to go pay 100 pesos to get a modem for my room. Again, ridiculous. Food was okay. Definitely over-priced & restaurant is equally depressing. Someone should buy this property and give it a full makeover. It might have been nice 30 years ago, but not now.

This is not a five-star resort. Most the rooms don't even have TVs and the Wi-Fi only works next to the pool. That said they have a nice pool and hot tub and are right on the ocean. It's about 5 minute drive from Los Bariless with easy access to lots of places to go hiking or off-roading. If you want to plan something do not listen to the front desk staff of the people you talk to on Facebook from the company. Figure out what you want to book and book it yourself. They will tell you not to worry about it they'll be plenty of stuff available when you get there and that is a lie. I don't know if it's laziness or what but if you go down there without your trip planned and booked you'll end up not getting to do most of the things you want to do

Disappointing room given the cost
Given the cost I was very disappointed with the room, it was very dated, with a small old fashioned bathroom and basically 1 bucket of hot water for a shower. There were not the amenities I would expect like including breakfast in the room rate, drinking water, a fridge or a hairdryer. The communal area were nice with a beautiful beach front location and the restaurant food was high quality. All the staff were very nice and worked hard to accommodate.

BV Oceanfront Hot Springs Resort was a wonderful little getaway spot. The staff were absolutely excellent. Kind, helpful, quick and excellent at what they do. From groundskeeping, bar staff, wait staff, spa, reception, housekeeping — everyone. So impressive, all around. Exceeded expectations and really made you feel at home and taken care of. Thought the resort is old, the grounds are beautiful with the greenery as the focal point. The plants, trees flowers are so dense and charmingly well-kept. It was a treat to walk about the property. Probably the top highlight for us was the food. We had heard it was good, but wow. Our experience is the food in Mexico is typically high-volume, touristy and bland. But, not so here. Not only was the presentation always so surprising and luxurious, but it was DELICIOUS. We ordered a variety of items (pastas, tacos, guac, salads, tortilla soup (amazing), ribs, burgers, etc.) and everything was amazing. Very, very reasonably priced. Truly impressed and blown away. Don’t miss the “grill night”, and though we missed it by a day, we heard the “taco Tuesday” is something special, and I have no doubt! The chefs are truly amazing at their craft at BV Oceanfront Hot Springs Resort. Overall, this quiet, little slice outside of Cabo was a delight. We would go back and perhaps rent a car or side-by-side to experience a little more around the resort; but, for only a couple of days lounging and beach walks was just the relaxing getaway needed.
