“reading week at barcelo”
The hotel was fantastic. The room was great, just as described and we hada view over the pools and the ocean. The staff was amazing and the food....so good, even the buffet! The only problem was booking the restaurants for the evenings. They were really hard to get into and you had to line up. We were told they were full but when we walked by the restaurants they were always less than half full. This being said it was during reading week but still.... You are supposed to make the reservation in the morning but we ended up asking them around 8pm at the restaurant if they could squeeze us in and they usually could. (French and Japanese were very very good) The olympics were on at the time and the sports bar was kind enough to change all the tvs to the canada hockey games. they also served cappuccinos and popcorn here. They didn't have a shuttle, a friend had a car so I am not sure what the prices are. We heard it was $35 to town but it is about a half hour drive so it is affordable to go in for a day.

“I would absolutely go back”
My friend and I were looking for a comfortable vacation spot on the beach, reasonably priced. This were certainly it. The room was perfect. We called our beds "the marshmellows'. The food was excellent but difficult to access at times. We had difficulty figuring out where to go to eat the first night and eventually ordered room service, which was good. The breakfast buffet was really good and the folks working there did not mind bringing us one mimosa after the other. The hotel was not very close to Cabo but Sebastian from Gray Line tours explained to us how to access shuttles and what to pay cabs so that we have no problem. He made several really good recommendations in terms of excursions and we had a blast in the city. If you are a drinker (we are), they will bring whatever you want to drink, whenever you want it. The martini bar and lobby bar are both excellent. The swim up bar stays busy but the bar at the adult pool does not and has an excellent selection of tequila. The only time we paid for alcohol was when we wanted a nicer bottle of sake than what was served in the Japanese restaurant. Almost all of the staff were kind but anywhere you go, someone is going to be difficult at some point. 95% of of the folks working there went way beyond what I considered necessary to help us out and were overly friendly and kind. One concern we heard repeatedly before we left for Mexico is that it may be unsafe. At no point did we ever feel unsafe and we are both women.
“Missing the Barcelo and the fabulous seafood...”
We stayed at the Barcelo during the March break and had an extremely pleasant experience. The food was fantastic, especially if you loved seafood. The buffet had made to order fresh seafood both at lunch and dinner. The drinks were awesome and included all premium brands upon request. The resort was beautiful and well maintained. Rooms were large and very comfortable. The staff were always very pleasant and helpful...nothing bad to say about this resort. Would not hesitate to recommend this resort and would love to come back. Special thanks to David at the front desk for making our stay very memorable.

We were very happy with our stay at the Grand Baja. The hotel itself as well as the grounds, pool, spa, and restaurants were beautifully designed and maintained. The beach is beautiful and we found it to be relatively unpopulated, compared to other popular Mexican destinations. We loved the hotel's own beach area -- especially the hammocks! We liked the Grand Baja's location -- within walking distance of San Jose del Cabo (as opposed to many Los Cabos hotels that are spread across the 18 mile corridor between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas). Highly recommended!

Great all inclusive experiences
“Great Hotel, Great Service”
We were pleasantly surprised given the rating of the hotel. We had a club premium swim up room. We were on the adults pool side which we preferred as we had sun ALL day. The check in was nice and separate so there was a place for us to relax until our room was ready - we had an early arrival. The Club Premium room also has food and drinks all day so if you don't feel like messing with the buffet you can just go there and have a nice peaceful meal. the fitness center is great, there is a nice view and plenty of equipment. Food is buffet food so you just have to have expecatations that its average. Restaraunts are good. Martini bar and drinks made at the adult pool are the best. We did whale watching on the smaller boats-totally worth it. My husband golfed at Puesta, food and bev is included in the greens fees, he said it was a beautiful course. All skill levels playing. Our room was always clean and stocked. There is a louder resort next door, I took earplugs but I never needed them. There were also a lot of weddings during our stay but they were always over by 10 and never disturbed our sleep our when we wanted to eat. We went in March the weather was sunny,clear, and the right temp every day. At night it cooled to 55 or 60 - but I prefer that so it was perfect for me. This is one resort I would go back to. It is also close to the airport so if you're on a shared shuttle you're the first drop off. Beach is nice and walkable. Pools are cold, they said the gas line was out
“Will go back at any time, EXELLENT !!!!!!”
What an amazing experience we just had, this hotel is like 5 star, we will come back at any time, people working there is more than exellent, room is like been en heaven, very confortable, very clean, restaurant a la carte, they just 5 stars, how they treat you, how they present the food, pools, bars, even the gift shop, we extrongly recomended for a 5 star vacation....

“Great Experience”
The only bad thing I can say about this place is that only one of the pools was warm enough to swim in. Everything else was excellent! The restaurants were great, service was OK and the weather was amazing!
