Great location!

Great location, but room was definitely not worth $220/night.

Sorry that you felt the value wasn't there, our prices do bump a bit on weekends, especially during spring break and summer holidays.

Great place to stay on the beach

Posted 29-Mar-2015
Perfect little place to stay on the beach. You walk right out of the hotel to the boardwalk and beach. The elevator is old school, It has such a rustic, beach vibe. Great staff! Great place to stay!

Loved the access to the beach.

Posted 20-Feb-2015
Pros: Access to the beach.
Cons: Can't wait to see the renovations that were undergoing! The rooftop patio will be spectacular.
Location: The beach - rent some bikes from Jay's Rentals a few blocks down and ride all the way to Malibu! Rent a surf board from Jay's and surf all day!
The hotel was undergoing some construction but was still comfortable and clean. The parking was not the greatest but nothing too bad.

Thanks for bearing with us during our exciting upgrades; the roof-top deck will be remarkable and our front balconies will be opening at the end of February. Great point about parking; it can be a challenge in Venice, especially when staying at the historic properties like ours that weren't built with on-site parking in mind. Hope to see you again!

Very nice right on the beach

Venice is beautiful by day. Not so much at night. Take that into consideration.

Very good point, Alberto. The beach and Boardwalk virtually empty out after sunset which can make for a stark contrast in experiences between day and night. The good part about that is the area is often quite quiet at night which can help where getting some rest is concerned. Thanks for staying with us!

We're glad you enjoyed your Venice Beach experience and we appreciate that you mentioned parking, which can be difficult in our busy beach-town... There is free street parking available in our neighborhood and paid parking lots a few blocks from our hotel.

Nice Hotel

Posted 7-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com
Great hotel very clean and the staff very helpful, parking is a drama but that's the same for all of Venice. The only problem is Venice Beach itself. Great to visit during the day but at night it becomes a little menacing. If you have a family I would stay at Santa Monica and visit Venice during the day.

Great advice here, Kieran... and I agree. I would not describe Venice Beach as "family-friendly" either. Not that it's unsafe, just that it's best appreciated by discerning, adventurous adults.

Exactly what we were looking for.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was charming and clean. It's located right in the middle of the beach action. Parking is available nearby. We really enjoyed our stay. Can't wait to see how the facade restoration turns out!

Thank you for your kind words, Jesse! Hope to see you again (...once the new common-area balconies and roof-deck are done!)

New year get away with kids and service dogs.

Posted 2-Jan-2015
We had a lovely experience, the hotel is exactly as described. We love old architecture and we love history, so this place was perfect for us. The staff at this hotel were helpful and kind. We arrived with two PTSD service dogs and we were facilitated with no problems. My husband and I are both Combat Veterans with various types of handicaps, we were treated very well and had no problem while we were there. We loved spending time walking on the beach and walking on the board walk. We were happy to find a lot of vegetarian food options from various restaurants near by. We loved it so much there we intend to go back some day soon.
