“Old fashioned charm in spades”

Lovely, unpretentious place that fits in with the Venice Beach neighbourhood perfectly. If you are looking for a modern, sleek, full-service hotel, this is NOT the place for you. There is no restaurant or fitness centre, the bathroom is tiny, and there's no one in the office after 9:00 p.m. What this place has is old fashioned charm in spades. We had a room with a view of the ocean, and it was such a wonderful place to relax with coffee after a day of exploring. The bed was very comfortable; the other furniture a bit pulled-from-grandma's-garage but it works. There's a tiny kitchenette, so you can cook something simple if you don't want to go out. The elevator is very old but enthusiastic. There is WiFi -- a welcome modern touch. The people were delightful. I truly could not have been happier with our visit.

“Stunning location!”

We checked in late in the evening and was greeted in the parking lot by the manager, which was a first for any hotel that we have stayed at. The manager then walked us to our room and explained everything to us about the area, room and the hotel. The location is absolutely fantastic as it is right across the street from the beach that is home to dozens of seals. The only draw back is that the map of the area they provided was not that great, and although we did not require their service, it would be nice to have the piece of mind that someone fro the front desk is there throughout the night should any needs arise. This place is highly recommended!

“Fun and Exciting”

A quaint little place, a diamond in the rough, we were only there for one night, the staff were very nice and helpful, the location was both excellent for where it was and frustrating as we had a VERY hard time locating a parking spot for a 15 passenger van.

“It's a good hotel for the location and value.”

First of all the hotel was hard to find using our GPS, we only found it by accident as we walked along the beach. The check in went smooth and we were given great advice about where to park (the hotel has no parking spaces) and where to eat. The hotel is nice that it's unique and the staff were very helpful and friendly. My husband I and did not feel safe though, as there were a few aggressive street people, plus the streets are pretty bare after 10 pm, however there were always police. The hotel entrance can only be accessed by guests after 9 pm and both entrances are locked. My husband and I are used to hotels like Best Western and ones that are located in different neighbourhoods, mind you we had no problems here and by morning the streets were full of people. It is a great location and very good value.
