“Excellent Pre-Cruise Hotel”

Booked this hotel for a one night stay prior to embarking on a Mexican Riviera Cruise. Booked and prepaid online thru expedia. Were somewhat apprehensive about staying here after reading some of the reviews but I must say our experience was fantastic. Check-in was a breeze with only a credit card swipe for charges onboard. Clerk said she 'upgraded' our room as the hotel was not too busy that night (Saturday). Had booked a 'deluxe cabin with view' which is what she gave us but I could see that the location of the cabin would have a huge impact on your perception of this hotel. When you book make sure you are on the ocean/starboard/right side of the ship as the pier/port/left side could get noisy with all the activity of people going into the various banquet halls and such. Also make sure your room is not below any of the banquet or conference halls as they definitely would get noisy in the evening. Spent the afternoon and the next morning exploring the wonderful old ship. The tour of the ship alone would be worth the price of the room. Staff is very friendly and all very much actually seemed to enjoy working there. Dinner at one of the restaurants onboard (we dined at the semi-formal restaurant Chelsea) was fantastic with great food and very attentive service. We cruised the next day on Royal Caribbean which is about a 10 minute cab ride away but if you're cruising on Carnival you're really in luck as the check-in for the cruise is right onboard the Queen Mary.

“Delightful cruise experience without sea sickness”

Unexpected and delightful find aboard the Queen Mary. We stayed in the Churchill Suite which had a wonderful view of the harbor. Toured the ship before and after our hotel stay and enjoyed the fabulous service at the Sir Winston Restaurant - impeccable service! The hotel/ship is located a few minutes from Gondola-Getaway where we embarked on our own romatic Italian gondola cruise through Naples/Belmont Shores area. The price includes bread, cheese, salami and your personal gondolier. This entire two day adventure was a perfect "Eurpoean" mini vacation.

“Superbe experience”

Il faut absolument faire l'experience d'une nuit sur le Queen Mary à Long Beach. Trés correctes prestations, un tarif un peu élevé mais cela en vaut la peine. Restauration sur le bateau un peu chére cependant.

“will be back someday for longer time”

the place is so nice. Food at the party is very good.We just don't have enough time to go around. There so many places to go around to see. Front desk clerks were very nice. They know what they are doing.

“Feeling rich”

This was a wonderful experience in stepping back in time! I really enjoyed getting the feel of being on an ocean liner; the luxury, the relaxation. The only downside, and not a huge thing, was the walls in the staterooms are very thin and I had a "Terrible Twos" child in the room next to me. I did suggest to the front desk it might be a good idea to put familes in one area and couples or singles in another since it has so many rooms. Otherwise, it was so much fun to explore, imagine ghosts, etc. (What was the deal with the pile of dishes dropping somewhere at midnight????) Very worth it and I will return.

“Handy and interesting place to stay”

Decent price for a good base to explore the LA Area. They charge $15 a day to park your car. Not much to do locally in the evening, apart from an Outback, Taco bell etc.. and a local bar. Free bus runs you to the little downtown area from the ship. I liked staying on the ship but there is little to do locally without a car. If I ever went back to the LA area I would probably stay here again.

“Amazing Experience”

The Queen Mary is an incredible ship. The rooms are older, but everything is clean and neat with outstanding service. You cannot beat the experience of staying on a ship that originally sailed in the 1930's.

“The Queen Mary is a classic!!!”

I've been to the Queen Mary many times with in the past year and each time is better than the first. It's the most relaxing place to just get away and have fun taking tours on the ships history!

“My go to hotel in Long Beach”

While there are many hotel choices in Long Beach; staying at the Queen Mary takes you back a bit in time, and gives you the opportunity to experience a night aboard a luxury liner. The staff at the Queen Mary is top notch, the rooms are clean; and the experience is priceless.
