“Great place to stay in LA”

Gracious, older style hotel close to beach, pier and attractions. Stayed in suite with good sized rooms. Parking expensive - only option seemed to be valet parking. Friendly and welcoming service. Were there in winter so did not use pool and out a lot so didn't use the spa or what looked like a well equipped workout center. Close to restaurants and shops.

“Best hotel stay”

Great location! Wonderful view. Fabulous restaurant - Fig and wonderful service. Great if travelling with kids as they cater to them wonderfully - even gave them each a new stuffed animal to take up to their room!

“Great hotel with great views and location”

This hotel was beautiful, the service was excellent, the view from the ocean view rooms on the north side of the hotel are magnificent and the location was perfect. The rooms were a bit small, but very bright and smartly laid out, so it didn't matter. The only thing that we found odd was that the rooms do not have coffee makers. We missed our early morning java. Other than that, it was great!

“Lovely hotel in Santa Monica”

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont Miramar. This is a beautiful hotel, in a great location. We were right off the beach, just a few steps away from many shops and restaurants on the Santa Monica Promenade and a few minutes away from the nearest interstate highway. The hotel staff were very accomodating to our requests, our room was always clean and very comfortable. Only a few items to notel; the washroom door is like a shaker slatted door, so some travellers may not be comfortable with the lessened privacy and parking is very expensive ($30 a day). Having said that, the valet staff were excellent and these items will not deter us from staying here again in the future!

“Wonderful Concierge servive!”

My daughter & I spent 6 nights at the Fairmont Miramar in February & were very pleased with our choice - our room was small but comfortable - the location is fabulous & the staff , especially the concierge desk were so helpful & friendly & we had a million questions! We would definitely return to this hotel!

“Good, not great.”

The location of this hotel is prime or second to "Shutters"- it is not exactly of the beach ( a slight incline and one main road across towards the beach). The drive towards the hotel with it's grand fig tree is nice and valet is always readily availble even at 3am. The size of this hotel because of it's location Wilshire and Ocean Ave the amenties, rooms, and resteraunt is boutique style or some would say "european". I have stayed at the Fairmont for four days, and throughout the trip you do feel you are at a typical Fairmont. The resteraunt next to the lobby is decent and decent priced. The pool is always packed- I sometimes wonder if there really were that many young guest staying at a Fairmont. The room is small and so is the bathroom. Two points that had bothered me this trip is the washroom doors were french style and there is no privacy and the latter is the walls are paper thin. I had just stayed at the Ritz -Beijing and Langham- HK and for the money spent, I'd probably try someplace else just for the sake of privacy.

“Beautiful property, great location, but with an odd twist”

My girlfriend and I recently stayed 4 nights at the Fairmont Miramar in beautiful Santa Monica and our overall impression was quite good. The location is fantastic. The hotel is across the street from the beach and only a couple blocks from the pier and 3rd street promenade. The room, pool and hotel common areas were very clean. We received mixed service during our stay. The concierge was just okay and we were not granted a 1 hour extension for our checkout (on a Monday) but otherwise the staff was friendly and helpful. We tried to eat at Fig without reservations and the only table left was beside a dude in sweats and a Yankees cap. I would have asked his opinion on the hors d’oeuvres were it not for the mustard stain on his t-shirt. We passed and went to the Houston’s restaurant across the street - it was excellent.

“Horrible bed. Otheriwse, a nice hotel with inspiring views”

We read reviews on Expedia after booking and were somewhat worried. Most negative postings were unfounded. Staff was very courteous and attentive. Lobby bar had excellent food and wine. Ocean view room on 8th floor was fairly clean and very quiet. A little small... Bed was awfuly uncomfortable. Otherwise an excellent hotel in the heart of Santa Monica.
