“Great spot for exploring the area”
Especially impressed with the housekeeping service, the red bus, and the informal conversation spots!
“nice getaway”
This hotel was a very nice place for us to get away from the smokey and busy town.
“nice place”
the maya is across the water from long beach so the veiw is great. it is close to all the neat stuff in the town. the town bus picks you up right in front of the hotel and takes you anywhere downtown for free every eight minutes. this system hooks up at the transit mall where you can get to anywhere in long beach for 1.25. the train leaves from here to and can take you anywhere in las angeles all day for 5.00. the hotel is surrounded by countless restaurants and bars. the streets are very safe. we stayed for 10 nights and did not run out of things to do.
“Place to stay in Long Beach”
Hotel was just newly renovated and they are just doing finishing touches at this time. Fantastic views of the harbor . Atmosphere was awesome and you feel so relaxed even just walking around the confines of the hotel . The rooms were as pictured and clean , staff was courteous and very accomodating . The restaurant onsite was well worth it . Onsite amenities such as the gym , pool etc , etc were excellent . I would definitely recommend this hotel and will also be a place I would come back to .
“Boutique Experience”
This was my 2nd trip to Hotel Maya and I would certainly go again. This hotel gives you a Miami boutique-hotel experience right in Orange County. The property has been glammed-up nicely yet is quite comfortable and friendly. Even the Fuego restaurant is fantastic. The parking is pay, but not terribly expensive and may even be waived! If anything, it would be the difficulty of actually getting to the hotel from the quirky highway entrance to the port area, and potential traffic noise if your room faces the port side of the spit (water-facing rooms are much quieter). There's even a free bus that serves the Long Beach area so you can stay parked at the hotel and go into the other touristy areas of LB.
“very impressed”
We found everything to our liking from the moment we checked in till we left' We stayed for 2 nights before our cruise The location was great and the free bus to town etc was an added plus. We had a great room with a view with everything we needed. So close to the Queen Mary which we toured and enjoyed as my father was one of the people who worked on it in the 1930s The staff went beyond their duty to make us feel welcomed and were so helpful answering all our questions we asked. The restaurant was excellent and the food great. We would stay at the Maya again when we do our next cruise for sure. The hotel was very quiet which we liked.
“The Best of Long Beach”
This hotel has everything to make your stay pleasurable. Excellent staff, quality ammenties, grand view of the bay and city skyline. Public transportation to all necessary locations in the city. High end restaurant and bar at the hotel. Ample security. Our stay was a total plesant experience. I will definately stay again on my next return to the area.
“Beautiful boutique hotel”
I had to stay last minute near the Long Beach port and had no time to plan. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at this hotel. It is has a unique style and is situated right on the bay. Beautiful pool, lovely rooms, good service - overall really nice. One other plus, it is within walking distance of the Queen Mary and the embarkation area for the Carnival Cruise Line. I highly recommend this hotel.
“Long beach treasure”
More than I expected. Very cool hotel and just across the inter-coastal water way from downtown Long Beach. Walking distance to the Queen Mary or a free passport bus ride from the hotel to downtown. We very seldom used our car and the next time we go back to the Maya we won't even rent a car.
“Wonderful!”
The "bay view" was worth the upgrade! We had the lighthouse, palm trees, ocean, and Queen Mary as our view. The room was lovely and in great shape with fun styling. You can hear the Queen Mary's horn at 10, 12, 3, and 6pm. (we absolutely loved that, but it is intense) The hotels restaurant was nice (a bit pricey) with an interesting bar. The pool was nice, but the Cabanas were incredible! There was some "beautification" construction going on with the side walk while we were there but it did not hinder out enjoyment one bit. At night the hotel and its surroundings were a glow with multitude of lights, but in a romantic and fun way.
