RUN…DON'T WALK AWAY!

Posted 18-Jul-2015
Pros: NOTHING!
Cons: EVERYTHING!
Location: Fair location…the only reason I booked it….big mistake!
After driving around the block 6 times to find it and unload the luggage, I finally got up the steep stairs (after nearly having a heart attach and parking 3 blocks away) and decided I couldn't stay at this place and they refused to give a refund!!!! YUK!

Excellent choice

We loved this hotel. It was different than any other hotel we've stayed at. We typically stay at like a Hilton, Holiday inn, or a big name hotel. We would not have normally stayed here, but the price was right and the reviews were some of the best we read. I could not be more happy in our decision to stay there. It was clean, EVERYONE was so friendly and helpful, and it had a unique charm. It didn't have elevators, but taking the stairs actually made it kind of cool. The staff also helped carry bags up. They were very attentive and we felt safe knowing that they have cameras set up in the halls that they watch. Glendale is beautiful and close to everything. It was like 25 minutes away from Hollywood and the main strip had some great things too. jax is a jazz restaurant directly next door to HB and I highly recommend it. We will definitely go back if we are ever in the area. If you're looking for something kind of different, charming, close to attractions but still far enough away to not be in the middle of all the craziness, this is the hotel for you. We cannot say enough good things about our stay.

Great Location, Small but comfy

Posted 28-Jun-2015
My stay at Brandwood was a pleasant one. They are in a great location and parking is available in the back for guests. Stairs are steep but they offer to assist you with luggage if needed. The room was small but had everything I needed and very comfortable. The staff was very nice and courteous. No complaints.

Mid century charm that's close to everything

Posted 11-Jun-2015
I came from out of state and this was my first trip to California and I have to say if I ever go back I will definitely stay here again. The building itself is charming and the street that it sits on is in the central part of Glendale, everything one might need is within walking distance. be warned considering the age of the building there is no elevator there's only two sets of stairs but take you up to the first floor of the hotel. luckily the staff is nice enough to help you with your luggage up the stairs. the staff was wonderfully friendly and the amenities were excellent the windows don't have much of a view but that's to be expected when wedged between other buildings. I have to say that mattress was probably the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on, so soft. the my stay was brief this hotel was definitely worth it and I would recommend it to a friend. I was in such a rush to leave the morning of check out I accidentally forgot a shirt and the staff was nice enough to mail it to me. I live in Texas and it got to me in just a few days I've never had hotel staff be that nice and prompt.

Good Location

Posted 9-Jun-2015
Pros: Hotel was very clean and rooms were comfortable.
Cons: All guests should be aware at time of booking that there is no elevator and that hotel parking is several blocks away.
Location: Hotel has good access to many attractions in the area.
This hotel is not convenient for anyone with a walking disability. There is no elevator in the building. Guests should be told about this at time of booking and this information should be prominently displayed in advertisements.
