Nice, but...

Posted 16-Dec-2014
Cons: ELEVATOR!!!
Location: Very nice location
Would have loved to know ahead of time about the steep hike to the room and front desk. Three floors of stairs to lug luggage No elevator; historical building), other than that great place!

Sweet boutique hotel

Posted 12-Dec-2014
Pros: Location and charm.
Cons: Really nothing, unless one is opposed to lack of an elevator.
Location: Downtown shopping, jazz club, restaurants.
This is a treasure, boutique hotel that has beautiful rooms and is in the heart of the city of Glendale. The 22 steps up to the 1st floor of the hotel from the street are well worth the exercise to see this jewel. I love old quaint hotels with nice amenities and perfect location. This is such a place!

Charming hotel downtown-walking to shops/dining

Posted 5-Dec-2014
Pros: Charm and originality. Cleanliness and comfortable beds. Spa tub. Location is great with walking to plenty of nice restaurants and Glendale Galleria.
Cons: No elevator - lots of stairs - but also adds to the unique charm of this hotel. Shower was tiny with showerhead coming from the ceiling-difficult.
Location: Location is great with walking to plenty of nice restaurants and Glendale Galleria.
I like this hotel so much, it is my 'go-to' place on business trips near the Glendale area. I have stayed several times and it is always very clean and comfortable. It is an older, historic hotel with all the modern upgrades and plenty of charm. The rooms are small, but the beds are very comfortable. I love the downtown location and enjoy walking in the evenings, finding a good restaurant and enjoying the shops. Glendale Galleria is within walking distance, too. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This hotel would be great for a weekend romantic getaway!

Much better than it looks on the outside

Posted 1-Dec-2014
i had a great experience except that it was hard to find the hotel. Once I found it, I was disappointed by how the building looks on the outside...small and old. The staff was very friendly and professional though. But, the best part was that as soon as I entered the room, I was surprised! It was nice and clean, had a tasteful vintage look, and had all the amenities that 4 or 5 star ones carry. the interior was great, a TV, instant coffee, minibar, nice bathroom, clean towels and sheets, comfortable bed.. I would say it was totally worth the money.

Always a good option

Posted 25-Nov-2014
Cons: Install a dropbox by the entrance for guests to return their parking passes after checkout. Save us that last needless climb up those long stairs.
I like this hotel a lot. It's a bit overpriced, and it obviously lacks things like a workout room. But, the parking is free, the wifi is free, they've got satellite TV, and the rooms have been refinished and are really quite comfortable. Plus, there are so many food options up and down the block -- and walking distance to the Americana mall shopping/theaters. The only real gripe -- and there's just no way around it -- are the steps at the entrance. On second thought, maybe it doesn't need a workout room -- because those stairs are quite the cardio challenge.

Nice hotel in a clean/safe part of Glendale.

Posted 20-Nov-2014
Pros: Everything except the t.v. It was too difficult to operate for this old guy.
Cons: Have the t.v. more user friendly. Way too much brain work and button pushing to get it just to operate, and change the channels.
Location: Location was excellent. Parking excellent. And Porto's fun place to eat/coffee.
I just really enjoyed my room and stay at the hotel. The rooms were clean and modern, excellent bed, T.V., air-conditioner and bathroom. The room was quiet overnight, the staff very friendly and accommodating. The staff was informative about the parking, coffee shop and directions to get back onto the 210 fwy. It was an easy stay. I would definitely stay again. John

Clean and quiet

Great place to stay, this is our 2nd time. My only complaint is that we requested a crib when making our booking but when we checked in the staff told us there were none available. They didn't offer any perks for the inconvenience. If we had known, we would have brought the pack n play. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience.

Muy buen valor por el precio

Posted 11-Nov-2014

Old Hotel with no elevator

Posted 5-Nov-2014
Pros: I can not think of any thing
Cons: Tell the guests to expect to clime up. For me that is important because of back problems.
Location: The street is nice with shops and restaurants.
I did not know about the steep stairs up to the 2nd floor where the desk is. I did managed the stairs and the desk clerk went down to get my bag
