Disappointing stay at Holiday Inn

Pros: Not much
Cons: The rooms should be COMPLETELY cleaned so it doesn't smell from past cigarette smoke.
I arrived at the hotel and was greeted immediately by a very pleasant man at the front desk. I was given my room key and proceeded to the room. When I got unpacked and tried to plug in my tablet charger to the outlet on the desk lamp, I found that the outlet didn't work and there were NO other unused outlets near the desk. I had to move the nightstand next to the bed to get to an available outlet and when I did, it smelled like I had dumped over a full ashtray. Now mind you, this is in a NON-SMOKING room/hotel. I tried to call the front desk to inquire about changing rooms, but the phone just kept ringing. I just decided to deal with the smell and non-functioning desk outlet. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again!!!

Good location of the 405 Fwy....

Pros: The bed was comfortable....
Cons: The balcony needs to be larger so you can sit out there in a small chair....And they need to upgrade their cable system....Poor quality picture...
Location: The location was great, right off the 405 Fwy.....And the Long Beach Airport was only two blocks away....
The rooms were clean and well finished, with a 40'' FLAT SCREEN TV.....But the balcony was so small you couldn't fit a chair out there.....I had to call the front desk because the toilet backed up with in the first hour of staying there...

Out dated not clean

The chair had to be exchanged twice because it was so dirty. Changed keys three different times would not open the door. Remote didn't work to the TV.

Clean, pleasant hotel

Pros: I appreciated the cleanliness and the friendly and responsive staff. I liked the computer area, where there were two computers for guests to use.
Cons: There should be some form of ventilation in the bathrooms, and standard amenities should include a microwave and bottled water.
Location: Great location. Just a couple minutes from the airport, restaurants, grocery stores and other stores. Nearness to freeway nice but causes noise.
The hotel was clean, including the room we stayed in and the lobby and hall areas. The beds were comfy (we had two double beds), the bedding was clean and comfortable, and everything else in the room was clean and very nice. There was a rip in the curtains, but not a big deal. The toilet and tub/shower area was tiny, tiny. I wondered if a large man would be able to get out once he was in the bathroom. The space between the open door and the toilet, and also between the open door and the shower/tub, seemed to be about 1.5-2 inches, so we had to do some sideways maneuvering to get into the bathroom and close the door and then get out again. Also, there was no fan in the bathroom, so it got stuffy in there when taking showers. There was no microwave in the room; you can request and get one for an additional charge. Food from the in-hotel restaurant was very expensive; breakfast was $15.95 per person (there was no included breakfast or food or drink except coffee), and dinners were much more pricey. There was a bottle of water on the desk with a $4.00 price tag on it. Luckily, the hotel is very close to lots of eating places and grocery stores, so this wasn't much of a problem. The hotel is very near a freeway and the airport, so there was lots of road and airplane noise. This didn't bother me much, but my daughter had a hard time with the noise. BUT overall it was a nice, clean place to stay. Weekday rates are high for a hotel with few amenities.

Excellent customer service!

Pros: Clean, efficient staff, and complimentary shuttle service
Cons: Update pool and recreation areas. Extend shuttle service to include downtown tourist area for a small fee.
Location: This was the only draw back, limited activities
Kudos to Tiffany and the registration desk staff and Noel (he's a gem ) in shuttle on making my four day business trip very pleasant. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful and answered all my questions regarding my accomodations and bus transportation around Long Beach. The free shuttle service around the area was a nice bonus. I look forward to my next " vacation" visit to California and staying at the Holiday Inn.

won't stay here again

Pros: elevators were fast
Cons: the whole place needs updating
Location: right across the freeway from the airport (noise)...you have to travel a few miles to get to anything
way to much money considering the facilities...no free breakfast...restaurant is too expensive and not that great...
