“Wonderful Stay”

Beautiful hotel with an excellent staff and services. A quiet oasis in the madness of So. Cal. We loved our stay at the Ambrose.

“Luxurious stay”

A lovely hotel with a very relaxed feel about it. We stayed there with two children but it seemed more like an adult hotel. If I was to stay there again, I would request one of the rooms with a balcony and outdoor fire. These rooms were for couples only as only one bed but were very spacious. We had other family members staying in one of these rooms so got to compare rooms. The complimentary breakfast was light and delicious and being able to sit outside and eat was a bonus. Although we were quite a long walk away from the Promenade and the Pier, the free hotel shuttle made it easy to get to and from the heart of Santa Monica. Very glad we decided to finish our US trip in Santa Monica rather than downtown LA. The staff were extremely friendly and helped us with all of our queries.

“A little bit of Zen in Santa Monica”

This was my second time staying at this hotel. The staff I encountered both times were helpful and very polite. Although the hotel is located on a fairly busy street, the hotel itself seems very quiet. It is very clean, peaceful, and comfortably and tastefully furnished (very Zen), everything I want in a hotel. It also has free parking, which is unusual in Santa Monica. The complimentary continental breakfast (mostly organic) is a definite plus. For what it's worth, I saw very few children at this hotel. In fact, I think all I ever saw was a few babies.

A really lovely gem of a hotel in bustling Santa Monica. I would recommend it to anyone, it was a delight. Our room was large and comfortable with a walk-out balcony and the most comfortable beds you could imagine. An interesting breakfast and the best service you could wish for, the in-house taxi was a London Cab which took us to our meeting much to our delight.

“Exactly what I wanted”

The shuttle service was great and the staff fantastic. My stay there was much better than expected. The location was really ideal (if you're not looking to see the ocean out of your window.)

“Best Hotel for St. John's Hospital”

The Ambrose was a wonderful surprise. The staff could not have been nicer. The hotel had a chic, clean, efficient feel. The breakfast was fantastic. Fresh fruit and every kind of bread item you could wish for too. Coffee needs to be upgraded though. In the room they did have a dvd player, and I forgot to ask if they had dvd's to rent or borrow, so bring your own from home, if you have them. The location was great for the hotel. It was about 2 blocks away. Enjoy your stay at the Ambrose!

“Came out smelling like a rose at the Ambrose”

The Ambrose is a special place situated in the heart of Santa Monica. It is the combination of the hotel ambiance, staff, amenities, and experiences of Southern California that made my three nights stay a memorable one that I will never forget. The front desk staff were always around and happy to help. I utilized them quite a lot arranging for taxi service, getting a replacement for a lost key card, wake up service (somehow never got the call however). Thanks to Linda for recommending her favorite places in the area to dine and enjoy a drink, as well as where to buy a particular pair of sandals I was looking for. Thank you Tyler (chauffuer) for getting us where we needed to be. A special thanks is needed for the cleaning lady, who went above and beyond the call of duty to keep our room looking great (nuff said). By the way, even the elevator smells great, no kidding. Hope to stay with you next time I'm in Santa Monica.

“Great rooms; great service; great location and great price.”

It wasn't our first stay there because it just works perfectly. Terrific room and bath; helpful staff; delicious breakfast included; parking in the basement. The Ambrose is ideally located one block south of Wilshire Blvd. and one block north of Santa Monica Blvd. Lots of restaurants to choose from in the area. After dinner on Wilshire Blvd., we walked down to the Fairmont Hotel for martinis and then crossed the street to Palisades Park to take a look at the beach, the Pacific and the Santa Monica Pier. Beverly Hills (10 minutes) and West Hollywood (15 minutes) are an easy trip; and LAX is just a 20-minute drive. The Ambrose is both a terrific place to stay and a good value.
