“Beautiful hotel in a great location!”

Great location near Kensington Palace. Many nice restaurants and pubs nearby. Also near tube (subway) station, so you can get anywhere you need to go pretty easily. We will definitely stay there again next time we're in London.

“Great location and reasonable rates”

The Regency is conveniently located near two tube stations, restaurants, shops, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and Hyde Park. The single room I stayed in was small but comfortable, with all amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay there again on my next trip to London.

“Quiet neighborhood close to tube”

Convenient location -just a few minutes walk to South Kensington tube station, several excellent restaurants and pastry shops, and 10-15 minutes to the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum. My room was quiet and clean with a comfortable bed. Though it had an uninteresting view of the backs of buildings and dustbins, I spent very little time in the room, so don't consider that a serious drawback. The air conditioning was excellent, and the windows opened (automatically shutting off A/C) - both a definite plus! The restaurant staff in the afternoons and evenings were excellent. The food was outstanding. Breakfast was understaffed so getting a cup of coffee or tea was 10-15 minutes; however, two buffets were well-stocked, so there was no wait for food if not ordering off the menu. The concierge was not particularly pleasant or helpful on the several occasions I requested information and to schedule a taxi. I would recommend this hotel because of its location in an attractive and quiet neighborhood, with clean, comfortable rooms, excellent food, and convenient location.

“Small Room, but Nice”

First of all, I have to say that this room had the highest technology I have ever seen in any hotel room I have used. There was an alarm on the door that let us know (after a few seconds) that the door wasn't completely shut and locked. Another alarm went off if one of us stood outside and held the door partially open (as if someone else were trying to force his/her way inside). There were buttons to push for privacy, or to have the room cleaned by the housekeepers. When those buttons were pushed, little lights went on outside the door, saying, "Do Not Disturb" or "Please Clean Room". There were all kinds of buttons inside the room for controlling the lights. The one we liked best was the bedside light that turned on a soft, blue light. This blue light could be left burning all night, without interrupting sleep. It allowed us to find our way to and from the bathroom, without disturbing each other. The room was quite small, but it was nicely arranged, clean, and very attractive. The closet was a bit small for a long-term stay, but it worked well enough for our two nights in this hotel. The bathroom was large and nice. The hotel was fairly close to the museum and Royal Albert Hall sections of South Kensington, London, and about a ten-minute walk from Knightsbridge and Harrods. There were lots of good restaurants around, and the neighborhood felt like a safe one for walking. There was also a lovely restaurant in the basement of the hotel, which had excellent food.

“A Good Choice”

After some considerable difficulty finding the hotel from the South Kensington Underground station, we were delighted to see beautiful hotel in a very nice residential area. After reading other reviews prior to my trip I was expecting an extremely small room. However, the room was adequate, with two twin beds for myself and my daughter. I had been forwarned about the lack of washcloths supplied in many hotels so had come prepared with my own. The towels the hotel supplied were wonderfully lush and there was no shortage of toiletries. The beds and pillows were very comfortable; especially with "high-end", high quality linens. My only complaint would be the difficulty in controlling the room temperature with the heat/air unit. The room tended to be unbearably hot at times. As an aside, all bellhops and front desk staff spoke with thick French accents so we began to feel as though we were in another country other than England! The restaurant tended to be rather dark and unappealing in the lower level of the hotel. We had dinner one time, and the food was excellent. However, due to the dark, rather cold atmosphere, we chose not to return there for any more meals. The local streets offered a wide choose of cafes and pubs and we felt very safe walking in the area after dark. Would I stay at The Regency again? Absolutely!

“Impressive and convenient”

My wife and I stayed at the hotel in early February. The hotel is within 10 minutes walk to the South Kensington tube station, which is at pretty much the center of London. We just took Piccadilly line from the airport with luggages and it's not bad. There's a Tesco convenient store along the walk to the tube station and you can buy anything from breakfast, water to fruits. The only complaint that I might have is the I can always hear the sound of dripping water at night.

“Impressed with the Kensington Regency”

The hotel honored our pre-arrival request for a quiet room. Our room with two beds was small but large enough for the two of us to move around in without getting in each other's way. The housekeeping was great during our nine-night stay, and all of the lobby staff was very cheerful and helpful. We were only about a 5-minute walk from the South Kensington subway stop, and there was a nice grocery store nearby, as well as a number of good restaurants and handy cash machines. For the price, the Kensington Regency was a great deal and we recommend it.
