“Looking forward tostaying there again”
The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood. However, it is within close walking distance to the underground, Oxford Street and the British Museum
“Great Hotel”
The location, just 15 minutes from theatre land, was brilliant and at night we heard no noise that kept us awake. The room, although not huge, was perfectly suited for a few days away in London and was spotless. There was no en suite but this didn't matter as the toilet for the floor was pretty much right outside anyway. The bed was comfortable and at night. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast wasn't amazing but for a continental breakfast it was fine. We didn't stay at the hotel to eat breakfast anyway. If a full english is more your cup of tea there is a great cafe 3 minutes away in Russel Square gardens which serves cooked brekky all day - very nice!
“Close to what's happening, yet quiet”
I may overestimate its proximity to London Hot Spots because I don't mind walking at all, but it is quite close to the British Museum and a short walk from the Picadilly Line which is convenient for coming in from Heathrow as well as getting about, if you don't like to walk. The staff was friendly and got me into the room slightly early so I could stash my rucksack. The only problem was that the shiny new shower required MASSIVE effort and strength to turn the water on. Just beware (if this matters to you) that you only have shower/sink and not a loo in the room, and that there is no lift. But I would recommend the place!
“Very well placed for everything to do in London”
The only problem we had was that for October it was overheated which meant a patchy nights sleep. Staff were helpful when we had problems with the key to the room, and also brough extra towels without being asked. Breakfast was substantial for a "Continental" type.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and generally well-maintained. The breakfast was above average. The location was outstanding. The shared toilets as the ONLY downside but then, I am sure I saved 50 pounds as a result.

“So good we returned for two further nights”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 'The Lancaster" hotel so much that we booked the last two nights on our return to London before flying home.Staff are welcoming and will do anything to assist you. It felt like a home away from home.We found having the toilets outside our rooms worked well, would not have known we were sharing.
“Un charmant hôtel de type familial.”
Hôtel calme, bien situé, charme anglais, à recommande. Les standards du confort anglais étant différents, il n'y a pas de WC dans les chambres. Néansmoins les WC de l'étage (1 pour 3 chambres) sont très propres.
“Excellent Hotel”
I loved my stay at the Lancaster! Very clean, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the neighborhood is nice and convenient. Cannot recommend enough.
