“The Garth Hotel”

L'hôtel est trés bien situé au centre de Londres et à proximité de la gare d'arrivée du Thalys (St Pancra's). Une station de métro se trouve à 5 mns de marche de l'hôtel ainsi que divers café, restaurants et commerces. Les chambres sont propres ainsi que le reste de l'établissement. Le personnel est trés agréable et le petit déjeuner proposé se compose d'un english breakfast ( beans, saucisse, oeuf, tomate, champignons et toasts) ainsi que de confitures, beurre, thé, café, jus d'orange et céréales en paquets individuels.

“Convenient to St Pancras”

This is a good option if you are travelling out of St Pancras. It is old-style European hospitality and worth the price.

“Excellent location and very competitive price”

The staff were freindly. The room was clean, the bed was OK, the shower was good, there was no chair to sit on. The toilets were shared - not en-suite. The breakfast was adequate. However, the location was so good and the price so reasonable I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel!

Les + : - la localisation (facilité bus et métro, assez proche centre) - les environs pratiques (restos, supermarchés, magasins...) - le calme du quartier (côté jardin) - le petit déjeuner (anglais, copieux et de qualité) - le personnel (timide mais sympa et prévenant) - le charme british et cosy des communs de l'hôtel - le prix des chambres avec petit déjeuner, si proche du centre-ville Les - : - l'état général de la chambre très médiocre, la vétusté des lits, la salle de bains minuscule sans étagère, l'armoire branlante - Ménage tout juste fait (ex : draps seulement rabattus, aspirateur rapide) - L'isolation très limite contre la fenêtre en Décembre

Situation géographique de l'hotel très pratique car centrale. Déco : Charme de "maison de famille", vue sur joli jardinet Pas de bruit extérieur si sur jardin Petit déjeuner copieux Etat générale largement défraîchi et dysfonctionnant Propreté douteuse Service hôtelier absent A voir dans la même rue d'autres B&B...

“Thank Goodness for Breakfast!”

Stayed here for a couple of days and did not know what to expect from a Hotel so cheap. Hotel itself was ok but the room left a bit to be desired. Although the bed was clean and the tiny bathroom had been cleaned, the room was shabby and dirty. The net curtains were dark grey and had not been cleaned in months. It would not have taken much to wash them. The walls were very shabby and wallpaper coming off, dirt was clinging to the skirting board and although hoovered, the carpet was threadbare. Considering the hotel was full, they obviously get enough money in but not enough for a bit of soap and water. However, the cooked breakfast was fantastic. Little choice, but well cooked and nicely presented. The staff were kind and helpful but I don't think I'd go back. I might save a bit longer and pay more.

“Tired Hotel/Hostel”

The Garth Hotel is more like a hostel. The bed was worn out as you could feel all the springs in the matress. The woman that works the night shift was rude and generally not friendly at all. The hotel was not welcoming at all. The location is the only redeeming quality of this hotel. Close to metro and easy walk to city center. I would not recommend this hotel unless someone was looking for and expensive Hostel.

Maison londienne transformé en hotel avec un maximum de chambres à louer. Décoration vieillote. Comfort correct (lit). Propreté qui laisse fortement à désirer. Chambres exigües. Chauffage excessif. WC communs d'un autre âge. Breakfast typiquement anglais très correct. Sdb éventuellement commune. Très bon emplacement. Facile d'accès à pied. Bon point de départ pour visiter Londres ... En bref, juste un endroit pour dormir quand on a un budget serré et que l'on souhaite visiter Londres sans se soucier de l'état général ...

“You get what you pay for....”

Rather poor and tatty - we spent over nighted there and spent the minimum amount of time in the place. Ensuite was a joke - could barely move in it. Toilet seat rotten, presumably from urine. Sink was so small it was impossible to fill the kettle up from it. Cracked / broken tiles on floor. Bed was against an old fireplace so couldn't sit up in it without risk of cracking head against mantlepiece. One saving grace was the breakfast - it was really good Would I return : No Was it value for money : I guess so, considering its location
