The hotel is very centrally located, maybe too central. You are steps away from the Elizabeth metro line, but the alleys around the hotel have sometimes loud, drunk or druggie types hanging around. The staff is eager to go the extra mile which is great, however their communication between shifts could improve a lot. Also the hotel walls are THIN.
We stayed for overall 5 nights, and after the first, asked for a new room because a shirtless man was smashing bottles with his shoe outside our window at night for an extended period of time. The morning staffed assured us they'd find a new room, but when we returned after dinner, the staff working claimed they had no idea a room change was asked for.
The next morning we asked for a new room again. Luckily they called us within several hours saying they found a room on the interior of the building for us. The new room was MUCH quieter thankfully. However when we took a shower in the new room, water began leaking from the ceiling within 5 minutes. Not a little amount of water either, like a leaky faucet. Closer inspection showed water damage all across the bathroom ceiling, gross.
We ask AGAIN the next morning for a new room, but again the evening staff had no idea a room change was requested. So we stayed in the room with a burst water pipe the remaining nights..
They gave us champagne and a free breakfast as consolation, but these are really just bandaids for a very expensive and supposedly high end hotel.
