Let’s start with the negative, we went down for breakfast at 7:30 looking forward to what was described as “an experience not to be missed”. Our order was taken by a pleasant young man who failed to mention until he returned some 15 mins later with muesli and granola that there was no chef and therefore no cooked breakfast. They had also run out of butter, so we couldn’t even eat the toast. We were informed a replacement was on the way and would arrive by 8:00am. By 8:15 we gave up and decided to go out for breakfast. At check out the receptionist was moderately sympathetic, but no offer of a refund for the breakfast we had already paid for was offered. We have subsequently emailed the hotel to complain, but 2 days later have not yet received a response. This is a pity because the hotel is rather nice, in a good location and the room was very nice. However it is when things go wrong that the true measure of customer service can be judged, so unfortunately a big fail here.
