“Would use again”

“Business stopover”
I had a day at SHH as a stopover for meetings in London. Very happy with the room for geting some work done and having a good nights sleep.
“Boutique Hotel in Chelsea”
We spent an enjoyable Easter weekend at the Sydney House Hotel. If you're taking a taxi from Paddington Station (we flew into LHR and then Heathrow Express to Paddington) to the hotel, make sure you have the address handy. The hotel is located about 5 doors from the corner in what looks like another row house, so your taxi driver may not have ever seen it. The rooms are clean and efficiently furnished -- it was nice to not have bulky furniture in a "cosy" room. The bathroom was a bit tight for two, but again, at least the furnishings were minimal to make maximum use of the space available. Our room did not include a mini-bar or in-room coffee/tea. The hotel does have breakfast service, but we did not try this since there are many cafes in the area. The staff are pleasant and polite, and always give a cheerful greeting when you pass one of them. One note: If you're used to having a Concierge arrange for the details of your visit once you arrive, there is no "Concierge" at the hotel to assist with these. Make sure you have a cell phone, preferably a smart phone, to help you get to your destination, make dinner reservations, etc. The convenience of the location was wonderful - just a short walk to the South Kensington Tube stop, Victoria and Albert Museum, Natural History Museum, Kings Road, and a slightly longer walk to Knightsbridge.
