“great location.very helpfull staff”
great location 10mins from south kensington tube. very helpfull and welcoming staff. Very good cooked breakfast. Furniture in room a little tired but great value for money. Will be staying again on next visit.
“On the old side, but a good value for our money. I'd go back again.”
This small hotel is old but clean, and our room was big enough for three. The beds were comfortable, although our basement room was a bit on the warm side. If you are fussy about hotels, then this might not be the place for you. The hotel does show it's age, but we have no complaints. We were looking for a clean, safe, and relatively inexpensive (by London standards) place to sleep as we did not plan to spend much time in the room. This was great for us, and I would definitely stay there again. The staff was very nice--they even moved an extra bed into our room when we requested three beds (rather than a double and a twin) in our triple. The breakfast was large, although they only made eggs one way. Lots of fresh fruit along with the usual 'English Breakfast'. The fed us very well, and fruit was often available for a snack or to grab a piece for lunch. The location is excellent--South Kensington is very safe, and a good choice of restaurants are in walking distance. The tube station was five minutes away--Piccadilly Line, which goes to central London as well as Heathrow Airport. Also grocery stores nearby, so we could pack a lunch when we left for the day. AND a laundromat nearby as well.
“Unpretentious, clean and great value for money”
Friendly reception on arrival. We had quiet twin room at top rear of house in attic which had super velux swinging roof window which gave maximum ventilaltion and good views of neighbourhood.Only 1 bed had view of TV which was not a major hassle. But oh boy ! the bathroom -Our broom closet at home is bigger! Impossible to stand upright in shower due to sloping roof. But extremely clean throughout.Breakfast was a delight with endless supplies of food on request and even your ma would not try harder to get you to eat fruit! Location could hardly be better with 5 minute walk to Gloucester Road tube station in ultra-safe part of London.Ignore the alarmist comments of American visitors not used to seeing non-caucasian residents.( I did not notice any AK 47s in evidence!) Great location, friendly people at a budget price.Difficult to find better budget accommodation in London. Enjoy St.Simeon!
“Count the Maseratis”
St. Simeon was a great BUDGET hotel! Clean place to lay your head is my standard. It was a little musty and old, but clean and the staff was kind and helpful. Someone told us not to expect much from our lodging in London because most London hotels are crazy expensive in July and kind of a let down, but I was satisfied. We had a 4 (5) person room on the 3rd floor. It was clean and cheap, what more could you want? Cheaper than a hostel for the four of us and a WAY better breakfast. I personally loved the weird boot sale decor and odd owner that pushed us to eat fruit in the mornings (kinda like my Grandpa). And the location was fantastic - close to an underground and Sansbury's (a supermarket). It is in a nice neighborhood too - it was fun to count the Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Maseratis on the streets. Seriously, awesome!
“Original”
Un hotel tres bien situé, "résistant dans un quartier tres chic", permettant aux familles modestes de séjourner au coeur de Londres. Très rigolo si on prend la peine de s'attarder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“Haiping”
The hotel management is perfect, suggestions: 1. some beds are very soft and weak and might need to be changed 2. the fruit is very rich, but might need to have less, but better quality and fresh. I really like the staff in hotel and the owner, who are very friendly, nice and kind.
“TRES SATISFAIT”
HOTEL BIEN SITUE,TRES BON ACCUEIL,BON RAPPORT QUALITE PRIX
“Lovely spot, lovely family management”
Excellent value, two minute walk from a lively and safe neighborhood. Not huge rooms, not tremendous luxury, but very clean and pleasant. Run by a very friendly and helpful family. Only minor gripe: wireless signal did not reach upper floors, so if you need it in your room, ask for ground floor or next floor up!
“Good deal for the money.”
There were five of us traveling together staying in one room. The room was larger than I thought, which was nice. There were always fresh towels ready and plenty of food. Wi-fi was free, but most of the time we needed to be near the office to get a steady signal. Also, it was rather warm and only one fan was available. Other than that, the staff was very helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one. The location was great ... close to the tube and a safe and pretty quiet neighborhood.
“2 nights in Kensington with Fruit.”
Very interesting stay especially if you like Fruit! all the staff were very friendly and the other guests seemed happy. The room could have been bigger and lacked any extras eg hairdryer, but was clean warm adequate for 1.As a solo traveller this place was ideal and I found the neighbourhood very pleasant and felt safe. A family hotel which was good value -the breakfast could last you all day.
