“Fabulous Location”
Traveled to London years ago and wish I had stayed here the last time. The location can't be beat; minutes to the Metro/Tube, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus. The room was well appointed and clean. The staff were gracious; any issues (e.g. TV did not work) the front desk was on it immediately. Concierge was most helpful too. The only downside (if there really was one) was the service in the restaurant while friendly and courteous was not as efficient as need be (e.g. soiled plates were not cleared quickly when new courses arrived so you were eating on a cramped table). Net, net a lovely hotel in a great location.
“Wonderful experience...”
Stayed there for 5 nights on our honeymoon. From check in to check out everything was perfect. This hotel is quality throughout, nothing was too much trouble. Will definetly stay there again.
“Sofitel St-James, Luxury and Friendly Hotel”
A hotel with super A service, Sofitel St-James is like a home away from home. Greetings with a smile was our first impression from the doorman and from the every hotel staff. We checked in at around noon but were asked to wait until the room will be ready for us, therefore waiting until 2:00 p.m. which was their check-in time. Staying in London for 10 days, we requested a room in a quieter section of the hotel. We were finally guided by one of the receptionist to our room on the 4th floor. The room was furnished in a boutique style hotel, typical of Sofitel. The room was large enough and very clean. Every morning, a newspaper was delivered to our room. The room service were done with finesse, once in the morning and once in the evening while we were gone out. In the evening when we came back to our room, we were greeted by the sound of soft classical music which we found very soothing after a long day's tour of the city; and the bed was ready for us and the curtains on the windows were already drawn for the night. The bathroom was cleaned twice during the day. Free bottled water was set on the night table with accompanying glass for each of us. And there was a free treat every night, good for two, such as chocolates, fresh fruits, macaroons, candies. Sofitel St-James is a quiet hotel, which weI like very much because it meant good sleep and relaxation in our room after a long day with the London crowd. At Sofitel St-James we received special treatments, Merci!
“I would certainly stay at this hotel again when visiting London.”
Staff at every level were most obliging. The hotel is "a cut above" and located just 6 minutes walk from the Picadilly tube station and within walking distance of all the theatres.
“the best!”

“An Oasis”
Upon checkin we were greeted by the lovely fragrance of fresh flowers adorning the lobby, friendly and professional staff. Our queen suite was superb with lovely tub and separate shower. Ahhh! After an 8.5 hour flight from Canada it was heaven on earth! The exquisite bed was heavenly and our room was equipped with all the comforts of home. Room service luncheon was nicely presented and promptly delivered. Breakfast buffet in the dining room, though costly at 21GBP each, provided a variety of english breakfast and continental choices. The lovely Brasserie Roux is a fine choice for a lovely dinner. For those wishing to save some money on meals, the St James is handy to pastry coffee shops for breaky, pizza and takeout fast food and Tesco market for groceries and snacks on Regent St, and, of course the pubs and restaurants of the Picadilly Circus and Haymarket areas. Location was excellent! An easy walk to the Palace, St James Park, Green Park, Picadilly - where you can hop on any of the city tours, 10-15 minutes up Regent St. to shopping on Oxford St. We also easliy walked to the original Hard Rock Cafe down Picadilly for dinner. While in London we experienced 30 degree temperatures and our hotel was an welcome oasis of cool. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing a central location to attractions, a luxurious accomodation, safety and security. Pricy but well worth it!
“Can't wait to go back , best hotel ever”

“Great Location in London”
The Sofitel St. James is in a great area in London. It was close to so many attractions, such as Picadilly Circus, the National Gallery, Buckingham Palace, etc. The room we booked was a Queen room. It was very small, but for the length of our stay (2 nights), the space was sufficient. The restaurant in the hotel La Brasserie Roux was excellent and I would recommending having at least 1 dinner there.
“Fabulous stay, would go back in a heartbeat”
The St. James was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff were extremely courteous and ensured that your every need was taken care of throughout your stay. Even though our room was not fully prepared when we arrived, they took care of our bags and set us down for free tea service while we waited. The location is great, as it is within walking distance to Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery and not too far from an underground station. The room was spacious, very clean, quiet, and well maintained. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a brilliant refuge from the bustle of London.
“Will stay here again when back in London”
This trip was second visit to London on the back end of a vacation to Barcelona. We were extremely please with the Sofitel's location and value. The room was larger than we expected and the bed very comfortable. The staff was very helpful in providing information. It is definately a place we would stay again.
