Too short stayPosted 1-Dec-2013
Pros: Everything, would return in a heartbeat!
Location: Fabulous central location, though beautifully tranquil. A short stroll from Soho and the theatre district. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Needed a hotel room for after a works party in Soho. Confess to liking my home comforts, but too tight to pay top dollar - used the 'secret hotel' for the first time - my hand was shaking as I clicked confirm, but I was pleasantly surprised when the hotel was revealed. Very glamorous but not intimidating or imposing, rooms were smallish (usual for all city centre hotels) but perfectly decorated and more than adequate for a couple!

Pros: spacious rooms and convenience.
When we checked in the desk clerk checked us in and showed us to our room. upon entering she discovered that the room was occupied. We went back down and she changed our room. Other than that the room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel was located a short walk from the theater and other points of interest.

Beautiful Hotel in a Great LocationPosted 12-Nov-2013
Pros: ambiance, location, staff
Cons: room was really hot but once we worked out the air con that was no longer an issue
Location: Strangers on a Train (booked online at 7pm and were in our seats at 7.10!), the river, the palace, the shops (regent & bond street) and local parks
The hotel was in an excellent location, close to the underground and withing walking distance of lots of shops, restaurants, theatres, parks, the river but still peacful and relaxing. The staff were excellent, hotel immaculate and bar great for a drink (or 2). We didn;t eat in the restaurant but it was always busy and seemed to have a great atmosphere. There are cheaper places in London and although the room wasn't huge it was ideal, so i'd save my pennies and return here every time. A nice touch that I appreciated was a jogging guide provided which i used to work off all the food and drink!

A "luxury" room without a view.Posted 19-Oct-2013
I don't think it's unreasonable to be rather disappointed, after deciding to pay more for a "luxury" room, upon finding that your room is both oddly shaped and has a ghastly view of a brick wall. I would have settled for a lesser room and saved $100/night. More to the point, it seems an odd choice for this hotel to allocate this room, and its horrid view, to the higher grade category. So, if you opt for a "luxury" room and are offered room 210, politely decline.

Pros: comfort and staff
Cons: size of basic room
Location: fabulous central location, lovely hotel
lovely hotel well situated and very pleasant staff ,who are always attentive and helpful yet not interfering. The room although smallish was very comfortable ,but at full price may be a bit excessive. But great place to stay

Sofitel St JamesPosted 15-Sep-2013
Pros: The service was outstanding
Cons: The rooms were terrible
Location: Great location
Great service, however rooms small, cramped, dark. For $550+/night you can do much better.
