Guests arrive at the hotel via a carpeted walkway from Gatwick Airport's North Terminal, stepping into a large and light atrium. The sound and sight of water in the pools down the center along with the numerous green plants give the feel of an airy oasis. Built in 1990, the hotel's public area has a village atmosphere, with cafes, restaurants, and bars, providing the perfect retreat for business and leisure guests. The hotel is conveniently located between Brighton and London. Victoria Station, in central London, can be reached in 30 minutes by train.
Sofitel London Gatwick's conference facilities have a dark wood paneled and blue carpeted reception area on the podium floor of the atrium, with Internet access, televisions showing news stations, and electronic meeting boards directing delegates to the correct rooms. There are 13 meeting rooms in total catering from two to 300 delegates theater style or 220 for banquets. Decorated with cream walls and blue carpets and chairs, these are fully air-conditioned with audio-visual facilities, outward-facing windows with full length cream and blue drapes. Drinks and cold food are served in the meeting rooms whilst a break-out area is located out in the atrium. The hotel's three restaurants are also available for conference lunches, and the Executive floor provides all day snacks.
Concierge staff can assist with reservation and sightseeing arrangements. Reception services include currency exchange. Parking is available for a surcharge.

Sofitel London Gatwick has 518 guestrooms, all of which are decorated with light and dark woods, and are soundproofed. All rooms have wood furniture, with cream walls and full-length drapes with views of the atrium, the airport, or surrounding countryside. Guestrooms have cabinets in contrasting light and dark woods with drawer space, desk lamps, tea and coffee-making facilities, televisions, and video game consoles. Large silver mirrors and framed prints adorn the walls. Rooms also feature telephones, hairdryers, high-speed Internet access (surcharge), bedside tables, safes, luggage racks, wardrobes with full-length mirrors, irons, and trouser presses. Bathrooms are fully tiled, with bathtubs and showers, complimentary toiletries, and shaving mirrors.

“Great for flight connections”
The hotel was the pefect place to spend overnight wait for a morning flight.
“Great accomodations and convenience”
London Sofitel Gatwick was a wonderful hotel right at Gatwick Airport. The room was large, by English standards, very clean and extremely quiet(did not hear any planes). It is a great place to stay if you have arrived late, or have an early departure, as it is connected via tunnel to the North Terminal.
“The walkway to North Terminal is hassle free”
This hotel was very accomodating to our family's 11:45pm check-in. Our rooms were comfortable and the after hours room service was excellent. We were traveling with Seniors and a toddler and even though I'd consider this hotel more suitable for business travelers, the Staff were generally friendly and helpful overall.
“Perfect location, brilliant hotel”
Being able to walk a few steps to the airport ... literally ... is the first bonus which makes early morning or late evening arrivals and departures from Gatwick so much easier. I walked into the airport in the evening to buy some stationary, then again an hour later to check in for the next morning's flight. It took a few minutes each time. The staff are wonderful, the service is four star and the food in the restaurants, worthy of the smae rating. It is a very contemporary, very clean hotel with such comfortable down bedding and matresses, you cannot fail to sleep well. We stayed twice, once going to Nice and then on the return. Brilliant!
“Better than I hoped”
This hotel was modern, clean, and literally attached to the airport making getting to and from Gatwick a short walk. The hotel was soundproof, no airport noises at any time. The restaurant was very good, the front desk very friendly and helpful. I will stay there again when comuting through Gatwick.
“Absolutely an oasis of calm, Perfect location.”
After the trains, tube, ect, I was tired. When I walked down the walkway from the airport, the door to this hotel opened and I entered a beautiful place with the best staff I have encountered anywhere. The room was serene, extremely well laid out and the bed was like a cloud from the heavens! I did not want to leave. It was so very helpful to simply walk a few yards to my concourse through a covered walk, no trains, no taxi, no tube. You must stay here if you are coming or going from Gatwick!
“Great Airport Hotel”
Although I was only there for one night the hotel did what I wanted. I had a clean comfotable room and somewhere to eat decent food. I didn't try much else as I had a 7am flight the following day.
