“Convenience at a good price”
The room was small as is to be expected in London. The convenient location (near 2 Underground stations Bayswater and Queensway) including multi-ethnic eateries and a grocery store, friendly and courteous staff more than made up for the size of the room.
“Newly renovated small and quiet hotel, with a great location!”
I am really satisfied with my stay at this hotel! It is a fresh and modernly designed hotel, with helpful staff. The room was tiny though, so I would not recommend people with small children to stay in their double rooms. There was free Wi-Fi (wireless internet access)in the whole buildning, and also a computer for the guests to use in the lobby. The location of the hotel was perfect in my opinion. It's 1 min from the tube station Bayswater (District Line & Circle Line, and you can reach here from Heathrow after 1 change at Earl's Court), 2 min from Hyde Park, and close to many bus stops (buses to Central London, north, south), and Paddington Station, Notting Hill. I will definitely stay at this hotel next time - I warmly recommend this hotel!
“Perfect location”
The Shaftesbury is not the Four Seasons, but you get a lot more than you pay for. The staff is friendly and was able to get me into my room several hours before normal check-in. The location is within minutes of both the Central and District/Circle line tube stops so I was able to make business meetings without having to take a cab. Free wifi in the room was a huge plus. The room was small -- I had to crawl over the bed to open the curtains -- but I wasn't holding dance lessons there, only sleeping. The bath had been recently updated and was modern and spotlessly clean. I'll definitely stay there again.
“Good hotel for the value”
The hotel was a cute boutique type hotel. The rooms were a bit small, as expected, but was manageable with 2 large suitcases. The staff were friendly and always willing to assist. The tube station was practically across the street so it waseasy to get around town. The bus stop was easily accessible as well for coming back from the clubs/bars late at night. Overall, a good stay.
“Very Comfortable”
Comfortable, well-appointed rooms in a very convenient location.
“Tiny but Tidy”
We stayed a total of four nights, 3 at the beginning of our trip and again the night before we flew home. The two rooms were identical, extremely small, but have been completely refurbished. The bathroom sparkled. From the outside, it appears a little shabby, and the hallways are narrow. But it does have a lift, computer availability, and a helpful staff. Location is great for the budget traveler. Would definetly book it again
“Clean, small hotel”
Once you get over the big difference in size of European hotel rooms versus American hotel rooms, you will find the Shaftesbury Hyde Park International a clean, updated, convenient alternative to staying in the City. It is a quick walk to the Bayswater tube station. There are several restauarants within walking distance. I would not recommend the hotel's over-priced breakfast. There are plenty of cafes nearby of better value.
“Nice but very small”
Well - the hotel was clean, the staff was helpful and friendly and the location was great. The only negative is that our room holds the record for the tiniest hotel room I've ever stayed in.
“Will stay there again”
Enjoyed my stay at the hotel - room was small but very clean, staff was friendly, free wifi and fruits + good location. It's just off Bayswater Road with loads of food options and a shopping centre and 2 subway stations on different lines - bonus points for being near to Hyde Park as well. The only thing I would comment on is its accessibility to some of the rooms. I had to lug my luggage up a small flight of stairs (3-4 steps) as the room was not on the same level as the lift. No biggie if you travel light but might be a tad troublesome if you have very heavy luggage or are travelling with wheelchair/pram. Except for that, was completely happy with my stay and will consider staying there again for my next trip to London.
“Location is convenient since it is close to the underground and a lot of restaurant.”
Overall it is good even the room is rather small. The staff are friendly. There is only one problem, there were times the room smells of urine which is not very pleasant.
