“Seraphine Hotel--Kensington”
The hotel location was extremely convenient; easy access to tube and buses. Many restaurants and shops outside your doorstep. The hotel itself is fairly new from what I understand. The staff was outstanding--it really left a great impression on me. The hotel itself is very small, the room I had was small but comfortable and clean. The elevator moves slowly and is not accessible on the ground floor. The decor was modern and hip. There was a very nice rain shower. Overall, if you are looking for a small and convenient hotel this is a good choice.
“Adequate, but Not For Those Who Can't Climb Stairs”
You must walk up a small spiral staircase to get to the first floor/reception area... after that a small elevator is available to get you to your room. Someone from reception did carry our bags up the stairs, but the stairs were still very difficult to navigate... We were in the largest room but as it was built to be handicap accessible (though I don't see how a handicapped person could have gotten up the stairs into the hotel in the first place), it had a funky shower... with a shower curtain that needed to be changed a while ago.
“Great value - excellent location”
I you need a place to stay in London and are looking for value rather then a splurge then the Seraphine is an excellent choice. It´s very small (22 rooms ) but the staff make you feel right at home. Location is fantastic.
“Convenient for Kensington museums”
This is an ok small hotel in London where reasonably priced/sized hotel rooms are few and far between. It is not grotty. The location is good--good shopping, museums, Royal Albert Hall and tube are nearby. The bathroom for our room was spotless and new. The mattress on the bed however needed replacing...it was either really old or cheap, cheap, cheap. The decorating leaves something to be desired...sort of new contemporary look w/the use of used chairs, lamps, etc. The public areas were ok, breakfast was good. The employees were helpful. They bring your luggage up the stairs to the reception from the street. It was a good choice for our going to a Royal Albert Hall performance w/o spending a fortune.
