“Excellent hotel”
Great location, close to two underground tube stations and museums. Lots of winding staircases and narrow hallways. Truly an old-fashioned European hotel, but it might be challenging if you cannot easily handle stairs. I was upgraded to a very large room with two rooms and heated towel rack in the bath.
“Happiness in London”
The price was very reasonable and the service was excellent- only thing I would change is the size of the room. The twin room was tiny- even with just me staying in it- and very, very sparse. I could barely wheel my suitcase into the room. The rest of the hotel was very nice and the location was perfect- right in the middle of Kensington, and adjacent to many options of dining and entertainment and transportation. The service and staff were great- extremely prompt and always very helpful. I would definitely stay here again- I'd just try and book the next room-size up next time.
“great hotel”
This is a really nice hotel. I love the neighborhood it's in; there are great cafes for breakfast, and some places to eat, as well as convenience stores right nearby. It's right on the Piccadilly line, so it's convenient to Heathrow and getting around the city in general. The staff is nice and helpful! The free wifi is a plus. Would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend to others.
“Cool decor like Disneyland's Haunted Mansion!”
Something about the wallpaper and color scheme in the hallways reminds me of the Haunted Mansion in a totally good way. There are many doors to walk through in the halls which I learned was the result of uniting several adjacent buildings into the hotel. This also might explain why it takes 6 flights of stairs to get to the 3rd floor. Some rooms are bizarrely accessed from the stairwell itself adding to the eerie/funky effect. Rooms are good-sized and the staff is outstanding. The best part of this hotel was its location: Close to the Gloucester Road underground station as well as the Sightseeing Tour bus stop. Additionally, Kensington & Hyde parks, the Natural History Museum and Royal Albert Hall are all an easy walk away. Additionally, the price relative to other hotels in this nice area of London was incredible. I'd definitely stay here again!
“very good hotel”
very nice hotel for a good price. Very central location. Nice staff.
“Hotel, Location, Price...all GREAT!”
Location was perfect. Walking distance to a very fun, happening part of town and close to a few of museums and Harrods. You could walk to everything if you really wanted to but we bought 7-day tube passes to cut down on the walking between attractions (get an Oyster card and you get 5 pounds back when you're done with it). The hotel itself was very clean, as well as the room. There's a lounge in the lobby that seems like it's always got a good vibe going long after all the pubs have closed. Staff was helpful and we were able to book a bus to Stonehenge through them and catch it across the street. Highly recommend this hotel, and when I go back I'm sure I'll stay there again. Thanks for a great vacation!
“Welcoming staff, good room, superb location”
Much better than other London hotels of this type at which I've stayed, particularly given the good rate I got on Expedia. While small, the room was well furnished and very comfortable. The location is wonderful. The breakfast was superior. But what I really liked were the professional, welcoming, enthusiastic staff that I met. They really were first rate. Again, I thought that I was half a world away from what is all too often the norm in London.
“first time in London”
The hotel was very nice-great location -seconds from tube and a starbucks(important to a coffee drink like me!!)There also a small grocery store-room has a refrigerator:)-Something for the hotel-1.get better mattress-it killed my back and better lighting in rooms -my room hd one window ,which was in an alley not much natural light and hard to shave in the bathroom-The resturant was very good-Fish and chips-wow and the pumpkin soup was very good-The staff was helpful and friendly-
“Nous y retournerons sans hésiter.”
Nous avons été satisfait de l'hôtel sur tous les points : sa situation est idéale et son standing est très appréciable.
“Outstanding experience”
The hotel has been well renovated and my room was in excellent condition. Hotel staff were very attentive and responsive. The location is very convenient -- some 150 metres from the Gloucester St tube station.
