I needed a cheap but cheerful place to get my head down for a few nights and was starting to give up hope until I saw the reviews for this place.
After a warm welcome, I found myself in a very small but adequate attic room. Comfy bed with clean sheets, a tiny but well-equipped and clean bathroom, a fridge, a kettle, a fan, a TV and sockets with USB outlets built in.
On the second day I was moved to a bigger room (I didn't even ask, they offered) which was pretty much the same story. There was evidence of some damp in the corner but the lack of mould and a damp smell made me think it had been addressed and just needed a going over. The windows in this room could also do with a clean but the rest was spotless!
Breakfast was sparse but adequate.
Wi-Fi was reasonably quick and stable, which is rare for hotel Wi-Fi!
Nearby there are some great places to eat, a Sainsbury's over the road if you want to get stuff in and a reasonably good pub is right next door. It's also a short walk from three tube stations and has good bus links, too.
All thing considered, the Plaza Hotel is good value for money. If you want a place to crash that's reasonably priced, clean and warm then I recommend it.
