“very nice hotel”
very good price, very nice people to help you with anything, easy access to downtown or city atractions...
“Unusual not bad budget hotel”
I've stayed at Peckham Lodge on two occasions within days of each other. The hotel was formerly a Union HQ and is just over a hundred years old; it is a distinctive building on a corner with a recent extension on the side. On no account is this a luxury hotel or anything close to one! On my first stay I had a basement room without a window but with acceptable air conditioning; there was one working ceiling light and the bedside lamp never worked and was never fixed despite my requests. The bathroom was modern with a good shower. Overall it was a fairly tight space but reasonable - as long as you can live without a window (I'm sure upper floors include windows!). On my second visit I had a "basic" room which was more spacious in the modern block on the side; this was seemingly reserved for temporary/long term housing for families and I shared the bathroom with the occupants of 2 other rooms. As long as you timed things well this was no great problem but if you were in a hurry you could easily have problems! The bathroom was very run-down indeed; just about everything was falling to pieces. There was a shared kitchen where you could cook or boil the kettle but I couldn't understand why there was no proper bin anywhere but in the bathroom - or out in the street. All residents could avail themselves of a free breakfast served from 0730. The offering was an unchanging and basic choice of cereal and toast with fruit juice and tea/coffee. Not too bad; good bus links.
“Loved the neighborhood pub, the Greyhound - wonderful people”
The lodge was great. The underground was closed at the stop closest to the hotel so it was a bit of a journey to get there, but surrounding pubs had great people. We had a wonderul time
“Decent choice 20 min. bus ride to city”
Hotel was a 20 min. bus ride to down town. The hotel itself has seen better days but there appeared to be efforts to maintain it.All the People working in the hotel were very helpful and even though I left my computer bag in the common area ,it was at the desk when I finally went looking!Security seemed very good and felt safe. There was some nice oak panneling and marble in common areas;carpets in rooms had seen better days but bathroom(I changed from the shoe-box single) and bedding were very clean. Suggestions :even if alone ,take a double room;remember to change pound traveller's cheques-5 min. walk from hotel-at banks to avoid 5-8% surcharge at money exchanges;no merchants take traveller's cheques!Wireless worked well in common areas and all TVs worked!Good reasonably priced room ;breakfast is a bit limited to white bread, breakfast cereal, juice and coffee but wide variety of nationalities, generally younger than I were represented.
“Ideal for Kings College Hospital”
An ideally located hotel when you need to visit Kings College Hospital. The hotel is sited on a main road and some traffic noise is always present. Rooms are clean, staff are friendly and the breakfast is continental.
“peckham lodge”
“It's ok for younger couples on the go”
For the basic room it was cheap, private and clean. There was a large refridgerator and a grocery store right around the corner so that was perfect. We had to share a bathroom that was in bad need of cleaning and repairs. Continental breakfast means toast, corn bran and juice. The hotel is about an 8 minute walk from the train station and about a 12 minue train ride to the tower bridge area where all the mjor attractions are. The neighborhood is a lower income one but we had no trouble whatsoever. Not a bad hotel if you arent to pampered. I would stay there again for the cheap shopping and the cheap hotel.
“hotel peckham”
Hôtel bien situé et très bien desservi , bus qui passe 24/24 , chambre petite , petit déjeuner convenable , à recommander pour court séjour !
