“If you're not looking for frills...”
This is the place to stay if you're not going to be in your room very much. It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Bathroom had a "pod" shower with not much room. The first room we were given was about 75 stairs up - no elevators - and the toilet wouldn't flush. Many apologies from the desk clerk and an immediate change to a room only 50 stairs up. We were a little concerned about windows not having locks, but I think we were far enough up and were able to rig something so that no one could get in. We had a small TV and a hot water pot with instant coffee and tea bags; a clock would have been nice. While very clean and a comfortable place to sleep, not a room in which you want to spend any time - furnishings are a little dated and have that thrift store look. The complimentary breakfast was very good - cereals, fruit, yogurt, bread, tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, and hard boiled eggs. Nothing fancy, but good enough to fuel you for most of the day. The staff was very helpful and took immediate action on things that went haywire - sluggish drains, broken hair dryers, etc.
“A good basic hotel for short breaks in London”
The hotel is very conveniently situated near to Paddington station (the main London terminus from London Heathrow Airport). The roomsare clean and the breakfast in the morning is very good. The staff are polite and helpful. The hotel represents good value for money.
“Good value”
We booked at this hotel before reading the many negative reviews and were extremely concerned once we had read them. We found the service very friendly and the general cleanliness great. What must be taken into consideration is that this hotel is exactly what it says it is - a budget hotel. As such, to expect fancy frills etc is unrealistic. It serves its purpose and is clean. The breakfast was fresh and the dining and kitchen areas spotless. The hotel is situated conveniently near to two underground stations making access to the city a pleasure. We certainly recommend this as a great place for a London stop over.
“very small room, excellent location”
very small room, excellent location
“no problems”
It's in a decent area - just round the corner from lively streets and for the energetic it is still only walking distance from the central shopping and tourist areas. The room was fine - clean with a powerful shower. The staff seem to work very hard - very polite and helpful but probably over-worked.. If you're only using the hotel to sleep, it does the job and it's a good price.
“plain and simple but ok”
cheap and the breakfast was quite nice. Bit squashed but what do you expect for the fee?
“Nice hotel in Notting Hill Area”
The hotel is a few minutes walk from Bayswater or Queensway Tube Stations. If you are carrying a suitcase I recommend taking Queensway Tube Station as there are lifts available there.
