“Gorgeous rooms and bathrooms!”
The hotel is in a lovely quiet spot, which is slightly shabby in places, but nothing that would stop you racing back to stay here again! The rooms are beautifully decorated, very comfy and the bathrooms are gorgeous. I was upgraded to a Fmaily Room when I checked in; twin beds and bathroom with a lovely sofa, and stairs down to my double bed! The carpet in the reception area and on the stairs to the rooms looks a little worn, but once you step in to your room you will forget all about that! Simple continental breakfast is served in the basement restaurant, and there are numerous eateries within a 5-10 minute walk. Close to Notting Hill and Portobello Market, so area has a 'village' feel. Staff were very friendly. Simply wonderful!
“I have recommended to my friends”
We have stayed at quite a few hotels over the years in the Queensway/Lancaster Gate area and the New Linden was the best by far. The decor is modern and the rooms clean. Some rooms are tiny but when we asked for a room change because there was a lack of storage and we were staying 3 days, we were offered a room with a bath in the basement which was excellent. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts and the servicing of the rooms were both excellent.
“1st time in london”
didn't know what to expect - was nice room - big enough by UK standards. Polite and helpful personnel. Neighborhood was quite and easy access to the underground. Would go back anytime. Breakfast was nice and included.
“Really great hotel”
I stayed in the New Linden Hotel with my best friend for a weekend shopping in the capital. It was relativly easy to find from the tube at Notting Hill Gate and Bayswater. Just a few mins walk. Its also situated right next to Portabello Road which is fab for retail therapy away from the mainstream of Oxford Street. Also nearby is the bookshop from the movie 'Notting Hill'! The hotel itself is really lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful. Although not advertised, they have and iron and ironing board available so you needn't take one! There are lifts to all floors where the rooms are clean and comfortable. Our room was a twin but was really small-the beds were touching! The bathroom was beautiful so made up for the lack of space! Breakfast was good with lots of choice and plenty of everything. They also have a luggage room so you can leave your bags and shop more before going home! All in all this is a hotel I will definately return to-and I am fussy!
“New Linden in Notting Hill”
Comfortable, clean hotel in quiet area within 5-7 minutes walk of tube station. Room was a reasonable size with ensuite shower room. It was very warm in the room which was south facing and window had to be propped open. This wasn't too much of a problem but could have been if we'd had normal June weather. Breakfast room was not large but was never crowded. Good choice of cereal, fruit, cooked meats, bread and rolls. I'd definitely go back.
“Good location”
Staff friendly, courteous and helpful, would stay again. Handy to pubs, restaurants and underground.
“A good London hotel.”
The room was very good - we were lucky enough to get a free upgrade. Comfortable bed, large TV, sofa and nice and warm even though it was cold outside. You could turn down the radiator so it did not get too hot for sleeping. The shower was amazing. There was no bath but this did not bother us. Breakfast was good with fresh bread and fruit as well as cereals and cheese and meats. My only compliant would be the lack of herbal teas - perhaps you could ask for them but this was not made clear. The staff were very helpful eg printed out some directions for us. Our room (No. 12 I think) was adjacent to some sort of extractor fan outside our bedroom window that was on constantly. This did not bother me as we had just been to a wedding party and I was very tired!
“Great modern design hotel & superb service”
Great design hotel, very "chic & modern". Had an ipod dock, which is very rare to see in a family owned European hotel. The service was wonderful, they kept our luggage when we arrived early, and even after check out, for free! They even let me made a free call to France from their check in counter! To add to that, the breakfast buffet had plenty of choices, considering it was a complimentary breakfast. Stayed here only for one night, wish I was able to stay a little longer. Will surely come back if I get a chance to visit London again!
“Quite shabby”
Quite a shabby hotel, our room was exceedingly small but fairly clean. We were on the top floor and the lift wasn't working, we had to climb with our bags and luggage, this was the worst point about staying at this hotel.
