“Don't Bother”
Wretched, shabby, musty smelling and horrendously noisy. Attempts at modernizing go no further than the glass and glitz of the reception area. Both studio apartments (we were shifted from one dilapidated apartment to another marginally better one the day after we checked in) overlooked busy streets. The first looked out onto a side street where the traffic lessened between midnight and 5 am; the second overlooked Sloane Avenue, which is a 24 hour traffic sewer. With no double glazing (apart from an absolutely useless sliding double glass window over part of the bay window) the traffic noise was unbearable and unceasing. 3 sleepless nights later we could hardly wait to leave. And what can I say about the quality of service! We arrived after 22 hours on a plane to be told that our room was not ready (this was around 3 pm). 'Just another 10 minutes' was the repeated response, until an hour and half later, nearly weeping with exhaustion we demanded to be checked in. 'Oh, you're the Hotel.com people', sniffed the office staff who deigned to check us in.(Note Expedia: on line booking services seems to be on the nose with Chelsea Cloisters). About an hour after check in the same staff member rang our room to say that we would be moved out the next day because the plumbing had to be fixed. 'Couldn't we move out now rather than tomorrow?' we asked reasonably. 'No, because the builder/plumber isn't coming until tomorrow.' Who could argue with this logic! Summary: Rubbish
“Not good at all....”
The hotel is very, very noisy. It is well located but the rooms are motel quality and tiny. I don't really recommend it.
