“A beautiful retreat off Hyde Park in very busy London”

After the congestion and business of London, this hotel was a welcome retreat. Professional yet friendly staff, excellent restaurants and clean modern rooms, assuming most or all would be in the condition of ours. Close to Harrods with reasonable access to tubes. Good value for the price considering this is not an inexpensive area of London. Would definitely stay again!

“The Best Hotel in the Area”

Other than problems upon check-in with getting a room similar to that booked, and then having a room with a lack of a/c controls, we were very pleased with the quality, appearance, and comfort of the room. Housekeeping is inconsistent but acceptable. Would definitely stay there again as it is superior to the other hotels in the area and is in a teriffic location.

“Great Service when needed”

We had only booked to stay one night at short notice. When we arrived to the room, the sound on the TV wasn't working, one of the light bulbs had blown and the room was very cold. Within 5 minutes of calling the front desk, an engineer appeared and fixed the problems. This was excellent service.

“Niggling extra charges”

It is an overly expensive hotel but we knew that before we arrived. What is irritating is the niggling extra charges that should be in included in the room rate. 20 UK pounds a day to connect to the internet and 10 UK pounds for an extension cord. I will not return.

“Sorry to have wasted our money”

The staff at this hotel were poor to say the least. The slamming of doors from the housekeeping was very disrupting. You would think a hotel of this calibre would have doors that do not slam. The location is far from everything and is not close to any tube stations at all. I know if you can stay at a hotel of this level you do not need the tube, but it is a great way to get around. Overall this is a hotel that thinks to much of it self and forgot that they are here to serve the people that pay to stay here. The rooms are extra small and the beds are not 5 star level. In addition we were to have internet included in the price of the room only to find out they did not honor this and had to pay an additional 20 pounds a day extra, that was slow and constantly failed. Many other choices in this price range do your homework and find many better alternatives for much less.
