“very nice”
Very nice place to stay..Loved it
“Small but clean”
We asked for a clean quiet room which is exactly what we were given. Even with the elevator we had to climb several flights of stairs. Because of our large luggage and medical condition we asked for a room requiring no stairs and were given one the next morning. Also the first room had a bathroom very, very small but the second room had a little more space getting into and out of the shower. The evening desk clerk helped us determine which airport terminal we needed to catch for our flight out. The staff at Kensington met all of our requests in a friendly manner including holding our luggage for several hours after checkout.
“Fantastic Hotel in a Spectacular Location”
What value for your money in pricey London! Kensington Rooms is a wonderful hotel -- very close to Underground stops, attractions, and shopping in a fantastic neighborhood! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the free WiFi in the lobby is an added benefit. For the price, it cannot be beat, and I would absolutely go back!
“Very conveniently located”
Moderately priced. Very conveniently located. 5-minute walk to Tube with access to three subway lines.
“A must revisit.....”
The Kensington Rooms Hotel was a great part of the air/hotel package. Old world outside, ultramodern inside. Clean beyond belief, friendly front desk staff. Rooms for singles all face the street, so there is noise with the usual traffic at night. Great beds, small bathroom, but very modern - great shower. Breakfast, if not included, is pricey. In the strip mall at the Gloucester Rd tube station, there is a coffee shop that serves a continental breakfast for 2.99 pounds - sufficient. Hotel is across the street from a major bus route also. Evening meals mean traveling by bus or subway because those around the hotel are fast-food (avoid them) or only two pubs. Walking distance are Indian and Thai restaurants - 15 minutes in the opposite direction. This hotel is luxury living by my budget standards. I'd go back in a heart beat.
“A good choice”
I've stayed at this hotel a couple of times this year, and plan to return again in a few weeks. It is a good choice -- excellent location, reasonable price, and helpful staff. The rooms are fairly small, but adequate.
“A nice hotel near many famous places”
The hotel is not big, but is very clear. The location is very nice since it is close to many famous places. I really like to recommend it.
“Lovely London hotel with great location!”
Safe, Clean, Basic, Great Location! The hotel itself is like the majority of England hotels, older, lots of stairs, multiple hallways, small/tiny bathrooms, large windows, high ceilings, clean and complete with all the basics that one needs. Please do note, that the hotel is situated on a busy road and if you are a very light sleeper (or are used to the country/quiet sub-burbs) it may be a bit noisy for you. Especially if you're traveling during the summer months when you're likely to sleep with the window open (no Air Cond.) This hotel has excellent location to the GLOUCESTER TUBE STOP (just exit left out of the the tube and the hotel is no more than 3 blocks/5 short minutes away). Nice breakfast (slim picking for other breakfasts spots in the area if you are an early riser (ie almost nothing decent opens until 8:30am). This hotel has excellent location to the GLOUCESTER TUBE STOP (just exit left out of the the tube and the hotel is no more than 3 blocks/5 short minutes away). This is a straight-shot for those arriving into Heathrow Airport and the Gatwick Express train (Gatwick airport) is just a few stops away connecting through Victoria so be sure to buy yourself an "OYSTER CARD/PASS" for unlimited tube rides around the city. PS The rooms do not have WiFi...
“Nice stay for the right price”
Overall pleasant boutique hotel with simple accomodations. Room was very clean and quiet. Front desk staff are top-notch. Easy walk to eateries and the Gloucester/Earl's Court tube station.
“Will stay there again on my next visit!”
I was blown away at the comfort level of the hotel - it was like nothing I've ever experienced before. My room was extremely clean and the heat was at a perfectly comfortable level. All the linens and furniture seemed brand new or gently used. It had the coziness of an apartment, which I loved. I didn't feel like I was in a hotel. One morning I asked their room service not to come in and they even left me a bag full of extra towels. The only thing that was a little weird was that the bathroon was very tight. I'm 5'8" and 200lbs+ and to move around in there I had to suck my tummy in a lot. But it's in a great location, only like 3.5 blocks from the Gloucester Road Underground station. And there are shops and restaurants all around the Underground station and going towards the hotel. Kensington is a beautiful area to walk around in, too. I didn't go while I was there, but I know Kensington Palace isn't that far from the hotel, either.
