“Good value”
The hotel was in a very nice setting. Felt like you were in the country, not the city. It was the north end of town, just a short drive to downtown. The room was clean, updated and a reasonable size. Front desk staff were very friendly and informative. Newer flat screen tv. The only drawback was the bed. It felt comfortable, but you woke up with a sore back...might just have been me :( A very good value!!!
“The name is decieving, not a cult at all ; )”
Just a note about check in. The taxi may drop you off at a totally different entrance than the main check in desk (happened to most of the group I was travelling with), just follow the signs or pick up the phone near the exit where they drop you off and get directions from there (it is a bit of a maze). Overall I was very impressed. Great gym, nice continential breakfast set-up if you are available after 7 am and there is always a nice selection of drinks available in the fridges in the common area. And free wireless! One of the nicest places I stayed for the price, although it is a more expensive taxi ride to get anywhere as it is more than 1 km from the hospital and even further from downtown.
“Good”
Everything about this place is excellent, except that the room was overheated at night.
“Great and Cheap”
It was great. The cheapest hotel in the area but it is not for family.
“SpencerLeadershipCentre”
Great value via Expedia, less than actual Spencer website or call in. Comfortable. Clean.
“Great Stay for Western Parents”
Nice place to stay especially for parents visiting Western students as it is quite close to the university. Rooms are small but very comfortable and quite. I normally stay at the Windermere Manor but it was booked and other than no breakfast included the Spencer Leadership Center was comparable.
“Luxury at a reasonable cost”
This was my first visit and it exceeded my expectations. The grounds surrounding the building are amazing, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The facility and rooms are immaculately clean and comfortable. As a parent visiting my son at UWO the location was A+. I recommended the hotel to my husband who has made a reservation for later this month.
“Awesome service for the second time”
This is my second time at the hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful. I stayed in both the old and new part of the hotel. The staff is AWESOME. Whenever I had any problems, they were so helpful. When I arrived, the air conditioning had been turned on all day so the room was cold. I shut it off upon entering but since it was August, the heat is shut off so I couldn't warm the room. The temperature outside dipped down to 16 degrees so it didn't help to warm the room by opening the window. So, my first night was a chilly one. The staff were helpful by providing extra blankets, but the weather cooperated and they weren't necessary. The restaurant is expensive ($22 for lunch buffet and $34 for dinner buffet). They don't have microwaves or fridges in the rooms, and there aren't any restaurants or stores nearby, so if you are without transportation, you have to pay alot for food or order takeout. On the other hand, they have unlimited coffee, tea, milk and cocoa and baskets of complimentary fruit. I would definitely stay there again. Hats off to the manager for hiring such an awesome staff. PS. I recommend the reuben sandwich. It's awesome. Also, their dinner buffets are great.
“"Will go back again."”
Very nice hotel, peaceful and relaxing situated on 30 acres. Not really suitable for young children as it is geared more to adults. Many conferences are held there and it is connected with the University of Western Ontario and the Ivey Spencer Leadership Centre. It is also a short distance from the University Hospital, London, ON. The rooms were clean and comfortable with a view of grass and Oak trees. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
“Home away from home”
Fantastic hotel/business centre off the beaten track from downtown London. 10 minute walk to Western university (the reason we stay here) and about 7 minutes Downtown by car. The grounds are beautiful, the building is unique, the staff and food are #1 (so friendly and always smiling). The rooms are a little on the small size but clean & comfortable and for the price, you can't beat it. I'm always looking for an excuse to come to London and stay at the Ivey Spencer.
