“Great little hotel in a great location”
I stayed for 9 nights and will definitely want to stay there when i'm in London again. The rooms may be small but i had a quiet, clean room and that's all i need.
“Nice place, conveniently located”
Within 5 minutes walk to the Lancaster Gate tube station and Paddington, yet located on a quiet street. Room is nice (small, but what can you expect from a hotel inside of an old house). Free wireless Internet is a plus.
“Very good, cheap alternative”
The hotel is a fantastic, cheaper alternative to paying large prices in London. Situated about a five minute walk from both Paddington and Lancaster Gate tube stations and also five minutes from Hyde Park itself the room we had in the hotel was on the ground floor around the back. The rooms are fairly small, however included everything we needed (including free broadband, via ethernet, not wifi) and even included a free safe in the wardrobe for our valuables. One thing to not is that there is no bar in this hotel. If I go back to London again, i would have no problems staying there again. We didn't order breakfast as didn't see the need and if you are wanting a cooked breakfast simply walk back towards Paddington station and you will find the Chelsea deli which did an ok breakfast for £3 each. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and even lent me a charger for my girlfriends blackberry
“Small but immaculate room in a fabulous location.”
Yes the room was tiny, but it was spotless. I had a single room, lovely big comfortable bed, not a lot of free floor space and a very nice small bathroom. Despite the small room I would definitely recommend it. Given the cost of London hotels and the fact that European hotel rooms are generally much smaller then US hotel rooms, it was a good room for the price in a fabulous location. I was taken ill and the staff were absolutely wonderful. They brought tea and toast to my room without any request and offered to go to the chemist (pharmacy). If you like to spend a lot of time relaxing in your room this is not the hotel for you, but if you want a nice clean room in which to sleep and shower after a long day exploring London, then you should definitely consider staying here. I will definitely stay there again.
“Fine if you are under a tight budget”
The main value of this hotel is its extremely low cost. Otherwise, nothing special to recommend it. It's in decent condition, in a convenient location. The room is very small, smaller than you can imagine. Bed was lumpy, and it was not possible to regulate the heat. If you need a cheap place to stay near Paddington, this hotel is fine.
“decue”
“would prefer to stay somewhere else next time”
Negative issues: Room very warm, too small even for London standards On the good side: Clean and modern, location very good, 5 minutes walking distance to Paddington, friendly staff, good price in high season
“tres bien situe”
“Pretty average”
The hotel is in a good location and has a very nice face value appearance. The staff were friendly and always happy to help and as a whole create a good first impression. Positive points on the room were that it had a good size comfortable bed and a tv with a reasonable selection of channels. But thats really where it ends. There were 2 things that i noticed as soon as i opened the door. 1st a foul smell, and 2nd the heat! As our room was on the lwr level there was no opening window, no air flow, and no air-conditioning so the room was constantly too hot. We discovered the smell to be the fridge, which was not working and the door wouldn't shut. The bathroom was VERY cramped! The sink didn't empty as fast as it filled up so if you left the tap running too long it would over flow. The flush button on the toilet would stick so you had to keep pressing it until it popped out again. The room was advertised as having a "rain shower". A rain shower it is not! It is an average everyday electric shower in a cubicle that is not big enough to move in without whacking your elbows on either the wall or the door. However, once my partner had washed her hair she tried to use the room hairdryer and it was not working....until i wiggled the wire coming from the wall and it then came on intermitently. Surely a fire risk! The best part of the whole room was the bed, but if you are only looking for a place to sleep for the night there are far cheaper places that would be just as comfortable.
