“Great Place to Stay”
Huge room in terrific location. One block from Glouster tube. Short walk to Victoria & Albert and Natural History Museum. Nice large window that opens, big tub with great shower. Go out for food. Nice staff. Highly recommend this to anyone.
“I liked it.”
We were looking for something midrange in price and with old, English charm (whatever that means). This was it - originally owned by some royal someone or other. Hotel Staff was very, very good. The room small but adequate. We were on the top floor, so I'm guessing that originally these were servant's quarters. I hear the rooms in the basement aren't particularly good. Next time I might ask for a room on the 1st to 4th floors. Bathroom was newish. Near the V&A and Natural History museums, a twenty minute walk to Harrods - and a block or so from a tube station on the Picadilly Line - so it was very easy to get around. Our complimentary buffet breakfast was satisfactory - nothing special. No wireless internet. I'll stay there again unless I know beforehand that a hotspot for my laptop is vital. This time it wasn't.
“Great location, breakfast a bonus”
Great location, close to T and museums. Comfortable room small but functional bathroom. Breakfast was great and included.
“I would stay here again”
Great location in a quiet neighborhood with a one block access to The London Bus Tour route, restaurants, and shops. An easy 10-15 min walk to Kensington Park. Everything was clean and tidy. Large towels, plenty of heat, and windows that open. Twin rooms are on the small side - but that's London. Make sure you get a room with a bath (tub&shower) since the shower-only stalls are a cramped 2'x2' - in a cramped bathroom - in a cramped room. The staff is very pleasant and helpful (moved us to a room with a bath when one opened). Food in the restaurant was simple but quite tasty. Nice continental breakfast. Highly recommend the "pot of hot chocolate". Little problem with the key demagnetizing - which was a nuisance, but all in all, we had a very pleasant stay at the Strathmore.
“Friendly staff and convenient & safe location”
Hotel location is perfect to connect to underground or within short walking distance to shopping areas. Hotel staff is totally friendly and helpful for helping all the travel needs and arrangements. Highly recommended.
“A very nice place to stay”
What a wonderful London experience in a grand old hotel on a quiet street just a few minutes from the Gloucester Tube Station on the Picadilly Line. Breakfast was excellent and included fresh fruit salad, yogurt, cold meat cuts, cheese and cereals. The staff were friendly. The beds comfortable. A grocery store was less than a 10 minute walk away where we could get sandwiches for picnics. A variety of restaurants are in the area. No complaints except we had to leave to come home!
“Boutique Hotel in Heart of Kensington Close to all”
They are strict about their no check-in before 2pm policy which is a real pain, especially when you've been traveling for some 15 hours & have to hang out in their lobby until the appointed hour to kill time when all you want to do is just soak in the tub! After that, they tried to palm off a nasty pokey room on me because I was single occupancy but I wasn't having that, so they put me in a very nice normal room with a full bath & air conditioning, thank you, unlike the other room they'd tried to give me! Other than these 2 issues, I had a very good stay. The staff, especially the bellmen & room service were extremely efficient and friendly. Great location, tube, Starbucks, shops, restaurants etc about 3 minutes walk away yet it's nestled on a quiet street which was really nice.Good value for money provided you don't let them give you a sub par room!!
“Grange Strathmore met all my expectations”
My sister and I stayed for 2 nights and our room was well decorated and roomy. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We would definitely stay again.
“Positive experience at The Grange Strathmore.”
The Grange Strathmore through Expeadia, took our reservation 2 weeks before New Years Eve 2011 for 2 nights the 31st December and 1st January. When we arrived for check-in they had over booked due to a new staff member not checking the availability, interestingly she took a call whilst we were checking in and told someone that they had 2 single rooms and had to admonished for not checking first, I had reserved 2 queen rooms and we ended up with a family room for the first night and kept this room for the second night as well as the queen room. They gave us a bottle of wine and full cooked english breakfast each morning for our inconvenience. The building is lovely, a little tired in the public areas, but the rooms were very nicely furnished, and after 2 weeks travelling through Europe we really appreciated the comfortable beds and fluffy pillows. The staff were very polite and helpful, especially the concierge. The building used to be the late Queen Mother's Father's residence and is a very well placed for the museums, Harrods and Kensington Palace. We highly recommend this Hotel.
“Can't wait to go back”
Liked the location because it was quiet and not on the busy street. Close to tube station and places to eat.
