“Enjoyed the Grange Holborn”
Excellent location. Immaculate, well kept-up. Lovely, efficient staff, especially concierge desk. Also, the retaurant was very good with excelletn service. The gym was excellent.
“A great place to stay in London!”
Have gone to London 1-2 times a year for 35 years. This is my new favorite hotel. Modern. Quiet. VERY comfortable room and bedding. A bath tub w/ shower (hate new trend of rooms with showers only). Good work space. Free WiFi. And a terrific, free health club with great indoor pool and a steam room! Great for relaxing after a long day of walking about. I usually stay near Trafalgar Square, so this was a bit off track, but still walkable to the Covent Garden area, and the Holborn tube station is just one block away. Excellent, friendly, attentive staff as well.
“Great location, comfortable lodging.”
Excellent location. Very nice interior. Seemed to be confusion re cleaning the rooms, staff didn't always seem to know whether to leave towels or not. Beautiful pool area. Staff on check in and concierge, etc were always friendly and more than helpful We would stay there again. One interesting note for disabled travellers. The room was considered accessible because it had a wide door on the bathroom and grab bars. However, the tub was high off the ground - difficult for an able-bodied person to climb into. The solution could be to shower in the pool area which has walk-in showers. (There is an elevator in the hotel.)
“Grange Holboln Hotel - good for city exploring, clean, well mannered staff, ask for quiet room.”
Hotel is very near Holboln station, which was excellent for travelling around. The hotel room I got was an upgrade from the reception, and was on the 5th floor. It was reasonably quiet, the odd dustbin and street noise, but nothing of issue. The room service menu (normal) was not impressive, the fish+chips were much below par, but the breakfast was reasonable. The staff service was very good. The fitness centre was also well stocked with equipment, and the pool looked nice. The mini-bar was tempting, but expensive. No free water bottles in the room, which was annoying on the first night, as I had to use the mini-bar water. Lots of food places, and shops nearby, so could save money and still eat out. Would certainly book again, but may skip room service.
“Good location and very nice pool”
The location of the hotel is great. All the center is at walking distance and you have the two main underground lines at Holborn station. The pool is very nice and large. There is also a steam room and a sauna which is really nice at the end of the day. The only problem is the noise of the streets at night considering the location over an important crossroads.
“Wondeful hotel!, except...”
I really like the Grange Holborn Hotel. I have stayed there a few times. Staff is very nice and helpful, rooms are good size and clean. Service there is great. Good location, edge of Soho area, short safe 10 min walk to theatre district. The Holborn tube/subway stop is just 2 blocks away, direct Piccadilly line to Heathrow. V nice gym. During my last stay there 12/30-1/5/11 my room wasn't ready. No problem. They gave me an upgrade for the entire stay. I asked them to confirm with the manager that it was for the entire stay. The reception re-confirmed with management, I wouldn't have to change rooms. I hate changing rooms. The next morning a different manager TOLD me very directly I didn't need a big room traveling alone so I was being moved. I reminded him of the prior conversation, he didn't care and TOLD me again very directly I was being moved. One Concierge gentleman was also unfriendly, others were v nice. I generally liked everyone in the hotel, but this visit was unimpressive. I was back in London 3/6-3/13. I stayed elsewhere. Still a good hotel.

“Tiny but nice located”
Hotel room was very small, but bathroom was even tiny so you can't turn around ! ...but very good location and reduced rates were satisfied.
“concierge? bar service? you're kidding”
When asking about tours to Stonehenge, we were handed a brochure and told "Here - find what you like and I will book it for you." Then when he tried to book and was told it was not available, all we got was an "I'm sorry." Ended up going online and booking ourselves. Asked for a martini at the bar, and the bartender didn't know how to make it. So he asked another bartender. He tried - but really, didn't know how either. First night there, and we decided never to use the bar again. Funny how we read in the magazine in the room about the master mixologist that Grange has. Room was extremely small - though we were told this was an upgrade. Our kids "downgraded" double was bigger and more comfortable. Shampoo and conditioner was not replaced - neither was the one washcloth provided. Restaurant was EXTREMELY expensive - we luckily found a nearby patisserie for breakfast at a more reasonable rate, and never ate at either the sushi restaurant or the other one because, primarily of our experience at the bar.
