Pros: It's history
Cons: Needs a restaurant. For a single woman the surrounding area is not great for eating out
Location: Hyde Park
Good location. Very helpful staff. Centrally located. Two tube stations close and buses. Can walk through Hyde Park to Kensington.

Charming hotel but bewarePosted 8-Oct-2014
The hotel is in a nice location. It's ery beautiful. Safe. Easy walk to several tube stations. If you're going to stay in London don't expext American size hotel rooms. My particular room, 027, on the first floor, had a broken window which was large enough for anyone on the street to just walk through. There are several hostels on the street. Young kids hangout until almost sunrise smoking, drinking and yelling. The staff also dumps the garbage through a corridor near this room. You will hear doors slam all day. It's not quiet. You should definitely get a higher floor or face away from the street. The staff is nice and helpful, but I'm giving it a recommendation only for its location and aesthetics.

Good Hotel, great location!!Posted 4-Oct-2014
Pros: Location, location, location!! And the helpful staff.
Location: Two train stations with 1 block, Hyde Park 50m from the front door
This hotel is in a great spot, only minutes walk from two train lines. Staff were really helpful, upgrading me so I could check in early and sleep after a long flight. Rooms are small but a reasonable size for London and are comfortable, had everything I needed for a short stay. Breakfast although not included is well worth the money and has a large variety.

Room was way smaller than advertised, pretty tiny. Also the shower was almost totally open to the rest of the tiny bathroom and the whole bathroom got soaked during each shower. And of course the WiFi was pretty hit or miss.

Beautiful hotel rooms very smallPosted 29-Sep-2014
The hotel is a gorgeous building the structure itself is incredibly beautiful my only complaint is the rooms are extremely small. My husband and I literally had to walk in sideways. The hotel should really break into adjoining rooms and make larger suits I realize though this would give them less rooms and they would need to charge more. But that being said the location was great very convenient to the Tube and Hyde Park. Overall had an enjoyable experience.

Wonderful Character HotelPosted 2-Sep-2014
Pros: The building had great period charm.
Cons: Size of bathroom and the room could have been slightly larger as there was not much room either side of the bed.
Location: Great location and very close to the tube station. All London sites easily accessible from this area.
We stayed at the Grand Royale London Hyde Park during August 2014. The hotel had fantastic period charm and was situated close to the tube. The staff were very attentive and we had a very enjoyable stay. The bedroom could have been a bit larger, as there was not much room either side of the bed and the bathroom was very compact, however this would not deter me from staying here again and I will recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Nice location, tiny room.Posted 1-Sep-2014
I guess when you don't pay much you don't get much. The room was very small but the location was excellent and had no reasons to complain about anything.

Two nights for two at Grand Royal Hyde Park HotelPosted 3-Aug-2014
I almost had a great super and excellent time save for a missing shower curtain or substitute...not sure if this is standard but it got to me a lot...I'm pretty tall and wide handed so I would have loved to have something to stop me from messing up the floor and having to wipe that clean instead of enjoying my vacation.

Just over the averagePosted 30-Jul-2014 on Hotels.com
Good location. However, rooms are way too small comparing to the standard. They have partitioned the building so much that the value of my Club room was not worth its money. Wish I could at least have had a room with a view to the main street. Recommended if have no other choice, otherwise would go for a chain hotel such as Ib, HI, HE, etc. and save some bucks for a meal.
