Was moved to an inferior hotelPosted 11-Apr-2014
Pros: I didn't get to stay at the hotel
Cons: Don't overbook
Location: No idea
Like another reviewer, I was moved to an inferior hotel. It wasn't on the central line, the room was unbearably hot and the air on didn't work. I was 30 minutes late for work - not happy at all.

Beautiful common areas, but room was disappointingPosted 11-Apr-2014
Pros: The guest lounge was delightful - pure old world charm.
Cons: The beds and linens could easily be upgraded, making for a much more comfortable guest experience.
Location: We enjoyed a lovely walk in Kensington gardens, and made good use of the Asian and Italian restraurants in the next street.
The lobby and sitting areas of this hotel are absolutely charming, as was the location just opposite Kensignton Gardens and close to casual restaurants. Our room was clean with a modern bathroom, but was very small, and had a very unpleasant odour. The beds and linen were not up to the standard I expected (the sheets seemed too small for the matresses and the doonas were quite thin).

love London and the Grand Royale!Posted 11-Mar-2014
everything about our stay at the Grand Royale was perfect - the staff were very helpful, the building is beautiful, the location was perfect because it is close to the tube (two tube stops right around the corner) and to the bus stop. the one and only 'problem' was how small the room was. comfortable, but very small. perfect for sleeping, but no room for moving around.

Stuffy RoomsPosted 14-Jan-2014 on Hotels.com
Our room was extremely small for any hotel room let alone a room apparently upgraded to a club room. The floor was uneven(slanted towards the floor to celling windows that had blinds you had to bend down to the floor to open) by the wardrobe which made the door constanstle slam close, as well as making myself and my partner feel a little quesy. the room was also not as clean as I would of expected, expecially when i found a long sticky label to indicate that the last visitor (I HOPE) wore large clothing. Also the termastat didnt work. Considering we stayed in the begining of January it was like being there in the hiegh of summer. Despite our best endevours to turn the termastat to 17 degress (the lowest it goes) or even OFF our room was like a sauna to sleep in and when we informed the staff upon check out we recieved a meer shrug of the shoulders. Overall not impressed and would not return.

Moved to an inferior hotelPosted 7-Dec-2013
Location: Not bad
I was moved to another hotel because of "maintenance issues" - although I later found out the hotel was simply overbooked. The other hotel was inferior in every way. I did not receive an apology or anything in compensation until I made a formal complaint.

Best is close to Hyde ParkPosted 29-Nov-2013
Pros: Close to Hyde Park and subway.
Cons: See above
Location: Italian gardens in Hyde Park - amazing
Old converted house, which translates to uneven floors (ie go down 2 stairs walk 5m and go up 2 stairs). Special on breakfast was good. 12.15pm the maid knocked telling me checkout was 12 and plz go - I was just leaving. The room was amazingly small. Would neither recommend nor return.

Good locationPosted 28-Nov-2013 on Hotels.com
Nice staff, very clean room, good location. Room 111 would be good room for single traveler. However, my wife and I were there together and it was VERY small for two people. Hotel may have other larger rooms, but check .
