“Great first time in a hostel in Europe”

This was my first time ever in a hostel, and thus I had no prior experience to compare it to. Also, I traveled alone to Europe for the first time, so I arrived here with no expectations. That being said, my stay at the London Generator Hostel was very pleasing. Let me go into the positives first. This hostel had everything you could need: mini-store/tour desk, cafeteria and dining room, snack bar, full bar, laundry room, common area with televisions and computers, and free wi-fi throughout the building. The building seemed pretty secure and security watched the street outside late at night. The bathrooms were clean and spacious. The location of the hostel was good, as it was about a five minute walk from Russell Square Station (which also was close to many of London's famous attractions). The rooms had lockers of which I could store my valuables. There weren't many negatives from my experience, but if I had to be picky: The rooms were narrow and very close quarters. The beds were decent as it was only a place for me to sleep at night. Some of my dorm mates would come back at 3:30am in the morning and chat out loud but that's not the hostel's fault. The lift was also not working, but it wasn't too bad for me because I had a room on the 2nd floor. Overall, the London Generator left a great impression on me during my first visit to England and Europe. I would recommend to place to everyone and I would definitely come back.

Nous avons été trés satisfait par la prestation de l'hôtel.Ambiance conviviale et chaleureuse.Les commodités sont trés propres ce qui est trés agréable.Nous avons passé un super séjour.

“Great place for the price.”

My daughters and I stayed during our vacation. We had a great time and felt safe. It was clean and comfy. Great dorm style living. Great price. My only complaint would be that if you are a light sleeper bring earplugs. People congrate in the halls and forget others are sleeping.

“Decent hostel in central London.”

This was my first stay in a hostel and the only thing I would do different is stay in an all girl dorm. I take that back, I would also take another pillow or buy a cheap one when I got there. If there was anything to complain about, it was that the pillows were flat. To be honest, the hostel was just a place to sleep, so I really didn't spend any time there.

“Wonderful 1st time experience in a Hostel!”

This was our first experience staying in a hostel so we were a little nervous, but it was great for the low price. We were in a four bed mixed dorm, with two bunk beds and four lockers. Our suitcases fit in the lockers fine, but bring your own lock so you dont have to buy one there. The bed was comfortable and the showers were clean. There is also a great bar with cheap pints downstairs, we met lots of other travelors from all over and had a blast. The continential breakfest was better than the one at the last hotel we stayed at, very impressed.

“Fun Times”

Pretty good place. They cleaned the bathrooms a lot (which is nice in a hostel). The staff was really nice and helpful. The bunkbed was a little low, so look out if you're tall. Pretty nice location. Very close to St. Pancras/Kings' Cross but it's a bit tricky to get there on side streets. Also close to the British Museum and Russell Square Tube Station.

“The Generator was perfect.”

Very busy place but staff was very helpful and nice. Everything was kept very clean and organized. It served its purpose of being a no-frills place to keep my stuff, sleep, and shower while I enjoyed London. Met a lot of interesting people while staying here. The place is mainly geared for a younger crowd but did not feel out of place being older(40), actually met some folks older than me!! Great location, lots of food choices close by and a few nice pubs. Right between two tube stations, Russell Square station was the one I used most, not as big or busy as Kings Cross.

great for travelling solo! staff was great, and friendly. pub right inside, got to love happy hour! Beds were very comfortable. It had a young and fresh atomsphere. I would go back there again.

“Decent Hostel, amazing location”

The Hostel was undergoing some new painting and minor construction, and the wifi was not very reliable, but the staff was pleasant and the location was amazing, walking distance to Camden and Covent Garden, the Royal Opera House, the British Museum, and so much more, and the tube station is less than two blocks away!

“Generator Hostel : au centre de Londres”

Un excellent rapport qualité prix. Voyage en famille et séjour de 2 nuits au 5ème étage de l'hotel avec des enfants de 8 et 10 ans. Accueil sympathique. Que des bons souvenirs.
