“Well done Courtyard by Marriott!”
We stayed at this hotel at the beginning and end of our cruise around Norway . It was very close to the airport and with less baggage we could have walked the distance easily. The staff was very hospitable and eager to please even when we arrived 6 h early for check-in after a very early flight over and we were given our room. At the end of our trip we were booked for one night on the return to Canada but as this was at the time of the Icelandic volcano eruption our flight was delayed by one day leaving us homeless at the Gatwick Airport. The hotel was very accomodating when we returned to the hotel with all our bags and fortunately were quickly and efficiently reregistered. I realize this sounds very normal business practice but was more than that when you consider I was travelling with my 89 year old mother, therefore managing all the bags and based on the information we had we were at the airport 4 h before the original flight was to leave. Obvously a wasted trip and lengthy wait to get the information that the flight would go the next day. It's easy to be kind and considerate dealing with the public when things are quiet and going well but given the circumstances and increased activity of the hotel, I think the staff went the extra mile with ease.

“Excelleant choice”
Had early departiture form Gatwick so decdied to stap at airport. Decided to arrive 2 days before and use railservice for a day trip to Brighton...it all came togehter wondrfully...best soundproofed Courtyard I've ever stayed at.
“Can't wait to go back”
I am not in London very often but from now I hope alweys stay in that hotel.
“Very convenient to Gatwick”
I stayed here after a long trip throughout Europe and the UK. Of the many older hotels I stayed in it was great to get back to a more refined place. The internet service was fast, the beds were comfortable, the food at the restaurant was edible, and the service at the front desk was friendly and courteous. the only criticism I might have is that the service at the restaurant was a little bit unfriendly but all in all it was a great stay and a good place to cap a log trip.
“Recommended to a Friend”
I recomended this Hotel to a friend who booked over 30 people into the hotel on May 29, 2010. They also were well satisfied with the staff and facility.
“Highly Recommend”
This hotel is brand new and very quiet, in spite of being so close to the airport. I was able to get an undisturbed, very comfortable night's sleep and would highly recommend it. I was traveling alone and felt completely safe at all times, as well as enjoying the luxurious room amenities.
“Best value for money around Gatwick”
I chose this hotel out of a hurry to find accommodation to stay overnight for my flight connection. I was hesitating given the number of options and that some reviews were quite gloomy. Nonetheless, I stayed in this chain before in Trinidad & Tobago and although pricey, I couldn't complain about quality. Well, fact is that I was right and really made the right decision. The hotel is really new having opened just in April 2009 and the whole decor is really modern and swish (very much my taste). The room was very comfortable and the bed excellent (can't beat those of Sofitel though). In general, the hotel is a really good choice, specially to stay over and continue your trip next day.
“Gatwick hotel”
Brand new hotel. Rooms were very comfortable with excellent bedding and pillow options. Only stayed 1 night prior to departure from Gatwick but had a good experience!
“No hesitation in booking again next time”
From the moment we arrived until we left at 4am 3 days later we were given every help and treated with the utmost courtesy by all members of staff. We really appreciated the Receptionist telling us that our flight was on time before we left the hotel. Room was very clean, comfortable and warm and had every facility that we required. As another 'reviewer' said 'never even heard a 'plane' going over - very true in our case as the majority (then all) were grounded! Evening buffet was quite basic (Starter and main) for £10 - Dinner was good although expensive. Wine at £5 per glass was ridiculous. Service was a bit slow due to shortage of staff although this was probably due to the weather conditions - so not really the fault of the hotel. It was really nice to be able to sit in the 'courtyard' area on comfortable sofas to read and have coffee - there is only so much daytime television in your room that one can take in a day. Shuttle bus at £2.50 per person per trip was a lifesaver although Gatwick departures hall is extremely basic - again no reflection on the hotel.
