Firstly, we arrived an hour early and were offered early check in, within the next 10 mins, for an additional fee of £10. When arriving at our room, had to complain as the room had not really been cleaned, the shower curtain was stained and crispy and requested it to be changed straight away. The owner apologised and agreed to replace the curtain. The carpet had been vacuumed. However, it was stained and the edges near skirting boards looked as though theyd never seen
vacuum. The bedsheets on the bed that my daughter had were mould stained. bed was comfortable enough, but no mattress or pillow protectors. Breakfast is not available, There were dead flies on the windowsill. There was not any daily housekeeping (fresh towels/coffee/toilet paper ect)
Its a given that sometimes all you need is somewhere to sleep and on a low budget, but hygiene and cleanliness should not be disregarded.
This being said we were allowed to store our luggage for the day at no cost. Most of the staff were very friendly and accomodating. Toiletries were provided, Location was excellent, lots of pubs, restaurants and convienience shops close by, within walking distance of
Tube station and hyde park.
On our last night the fire alarms went off at 6am, causing us to evacuate, was handled well by staff. Saved money and was certainly an experience, but if we could have afforded to book elsewhere after seeing our room, we probably would have simply for the lack of cleanliness.
