Good location. Shame about the cockcroach!
Good location for shopping. Shame about the cockcroach in the bathroom, and this was after it had been fumigated!

convenient but not comfortable.
Very difficult to find the hotel entrance, signage is poor. Rooms very small and access on stairs with cases very awkward. Requested gluten free bread at breakfast the night before but the morning staff new nothing about our request. not well managed as it appears to share the management team with a sister hotel that is a mile away.

Clean Hotel
We stayed one night. The rooms were clean. The bathrooms were immaculate. The rooms were small but well worth the price.

Decent Hotel Close To Attractions
Stayed here after a night at winter wonderland and oxford street, it is close to Hyde Park, Kensington, Buckingham Palace and so forth. The room size is the size of a typical bedroom so don't expect a giant amount of space since this is a hotel that has been converted from a multistory property I believe. Overall is was decent for what we wanted was a one night stay, however if you got luggage and many bags this will likely be to small for you or family's of 2/3 sharing one room.

Fairly acceptable hotel
Quite small hotel in a okay location to central London. Room and bed was small and not so comfortable for 2 adults. Nice shower but it randomly went scalding hot for brief moments. Rear facing room view was not attractive. Narrow stairs to the lobby with no elevator so it would be a problem with heavy luggage. Elevator to the rest of the floors is a little scary. It kept stopping while descending one time. Nice breakfast room with view over Kensington high street and the park. Overall I felt we could have had better value for the price - especially considering the time of year.

It's tiny!
The rooms are tiny and the beds are only 4.5 foot wide. You wouldn't be able to even store two suitcases without tripping over them. I'm not kidding. There's no kitchen either so breakfast is cereal or toast only. If you need a cheap hotel in that location then it'll do for a night but don't use it as a base for a London city break.

Location
The only benefit is it is across the street from Hyde Park and a short walk from Kensington Palace which was nice to see. Otherwise, I'd never stay there again. You have to walk up two flights of narrow dirty stairs with your luggage before you get to the reception desk. Then you can take a very slow elevator to your floor.

pretty good for price
If you are looking for something affordable...this is the spot. Free fast wifi and conveniently near shops and restaurants. Pros: Location Price Free wifi and breakfast Super nice and helpful staff Cons: Breakfast=toast/coffee/tea/condiments No fridge or microwave in room (not in communal area either-have to ask staff to heat or cool something) Go up stairs before seeing lift. *lastly, rooms are nice and comfy but do not get a single room and expect it to be roomie..it is VERY small*

Good location bad room bad road noise so no sleep
Handy location, but the minuscule room i had was facing Kensington High street with faulty windows, so probably would have been better with a single bed in it and if the windows were fixed. The noise of the traffic on Kensington High Street was like sleeping on the Motorway all through the night and into the morning hours, so no sleep at all. They had no other room as they were fully booked so I couldn't change rooms, and the receptionist looked at the faulty window but had no options for me. I travel for work 200 days a year this is the worst I have experienced, its a shame I paid in advance as I certainly wouldn't have paid for the room if I hadn't Would not use again

Small adequate hotel for a short stay
Small hotel you could walk past and not see it, but it was adequate for an overnight stay. Breakfast was ok but the quiet room we were promised didn't materialise and we had to take one at the front which was noisier.

Great location and value but slightly basic
Hotels in London are expensive so in the end everything comes down to price. The hotel is pretty cheap for the area so you can't expect luxury. Once you realise that then I think the hotel is pretty good. The location is super, right on the high street and opposite the corner of Kensington gardens. The entrance is tiny, you'll miss it first time. It's just the width of an ordinary door then you go straight up some narrow stairs, the same sort of width as an ordinary house and then the rest of the hotel is on the floors above. The rooms are an OK size, the bathroom is small, but serviceable and the shower was good and powerful. The windows have secondary glazing which is good at keeping the noise out but makes the room very stuffy. The air-conditioning wasn't really up to a hot day in August so we ended up leaving the windows open which meant it was pretty noisy until about 3am but on a cooler day you would probably be OK. Breakfast is very basic, not much choice and no cooked stuff but you could easily find breakfast nearby if that was important. There is a nespresso machine so at least the coffee was OK. For what we paid I thought it was good value for money for the location, we used to walk through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park and be on Picadilly with only having walked on streets for a hundred meters or so. If you want more comfort then you probably need to up your budget a bit.

Disappointed
Was disappointed at the standard of the room it was shabby, toilet seat broken and cushion for bed stained, it had seen better days. The stairs at the entrance had not been hoovered for weeks and carpet was stained. Have stayed in other best westerns and this was poor.

Good location
The entrance is almost hidden so quite easy to walk past. I also feel there should be a sign near the entrance pointing the way to the lobby. Apart from that, nice hotel in a great location.

Small but good!
Hotel is above restaurants, so its just a small door as an entrance. Reception is on first floor and also serves as the breakfast eating area... not that large but it works fine. My room on the second floor was very clean and tidy... air con didn't work at first and the room was very hot, but after a call to reception they did something to the settings and it worked fine. Windows could be opened but it is a noisy road. The room was a good size and the bathroom clean and a good size as well. It was great for a base for the night and a 5-10 min walk to the Royal Albert Hall, which is what I used it for. Breakfast was cereal and toast and was included with the room price. Would I stay there again... YES! The stair carpets are worn and need changing, the lift is dated, but the room and accommodation was clean and comfortable.

not the easiest to find
The room was clean and comfortable, bit the shower was broken, the toilet needed a clean and it took ages to find the hotel as it's just a single width doorway with a set of carpeted stairs. Don't think I'll be back. Not what I expected from a Best Western.

Hotel perfect for one night's stay after seeing a show at the Royal Albert Hall. However we were a bit surprised at the size of the duvet. It barely touched the sides of the bed and that was when it was flat! That is my only moan otherwise great.

Poor Service and Noisy Hotel
Upon arrival at the hotel the clerk mistook our reservation with one that hadn't paid and was adamant that I was wrong for saying I have already paid. He kept showing me a receipt that had been declined and despite me saying that the bank details on the receipt were nothing like my card he still refused to listen. He was rather short and rude with me from the get go. When I showed him my receipt he eventually printed a new receipt and asked me to sign something with any explanation or apology for his mistake. I asked him what I was signing and he just said it was confidential. I noticed on the top of the form I was signing that the rate for the room was over £10 cheaper than what I had paid and so I asked politely if I could have a copy of what I had signed to show Expedia for the best price guarantee promise. He snatched it off me and said no as it was confidential. I asked why something I had signed with my details on it was confidential from me and he got rather angry and even more rude with me. So I asked if in stead I could have something else printed with the room rate on it so I could get the extra money back from Expedia and he just continued to be extremely rude. I felt embarrassed and very upset. I was disgusted by the cleanliness of the room. It looked as if it hadn't been hoovered in months with a large ring of fluff and dust around the edge of the entire room. There were also pubic hairs in the shower. It was also extremely noisy all night from bathroom fans.

Great location, nice staff, small rooms
The staff helped whenever we asked questions or with the luggage. Don't forget to ring the bell outside the door so they help you with the baggage. The rooms are made for tiny people, sink small, toilet, shower. I'm talking about single bed rooms but i heard double is as well. All in all the only reason we stayed there is because of the location. If you don't care about room size to be a prison cell then this is the hotel for you. Breakfast has few items and no variety.

The room I stayed in was VERY small! There was only enough room to fit my carry-on suitcase, and no room to walk around. As soon as you open the door, you take 2 steps past the bathroom to the single/twin size bed. The bathroom was also tiny, comparable to a airplane lavatory, only with a shower. Washing your face is impossible in this "sink". The sink is big as a bowl to hold some soup and the shower faucets are difficult to figure out. I tried to call the front desk to ask how it operates, but the phone didn't work so I went down to reception to ask. Someone came with me to my room and plugged in my phone for me and tried for a few minutes to figure out how to operate the shower. He finally got it and got really wet. I appreciated the help. I took my long awaited shower and enjoyed it. The room looked clean, but there was a small bug in the bed and another dead one. I got a huge bug bite on my leg but not sure if it was from that room.

Not four stars
Very disappointed with our room. Booked an executive double (assigned Rm 304) The room was small with too much furniture for the size of the room. On arrival we noted that our accent soft furnishings were stained and despite requesting that these were changed these were returned soiled each day to our bed. The carpet was thread bare in places with stains around the dressing table. The bathroom was a disaster with dripping shower head, split hose and heavily lime scale encrusted shower doors and soap dispensers and mouldy sealants Definitely not 4 star cleanliness
