“Convenient, but no frills”

Two short blocks from Paddington Station, this is a newly redone hotel with good beds and good bathrooms. We were on the top (third) floor, and the stairs are really steep, so hauling a suitcase up (no lift) is good excercise. Very clean room. Oddly, no alarm clock or radio in the room, and one of our wake up calls was 40 minutes late. Service is minimal.

“Decent little hotel near Paddington Station”

Hotel was decent overall. A very convenent location near Paddington Station. Room itself had some pretty serious maintenance issues like bad electrical work in the bathroom (exposed wires above the shower). The toilet was freakeshly high off the ground and you can't touch the ground while you sit on it which is very uncomfotable. The mattress was very old, worn out, uneven and uncomfortable. I would have gladly mentioned these issues to the front desk staff at check out but they never asked me so I assume they didn't care. On the plus side, the free wifi was good as well as the breakfast.

“Terrible Hotel”

Room was quite small but clean and pleasant enough. The bathroom however, was very disappointing. All the light fittings were hanging loose from the broken plaster of the ceilings with exposed wires throughout including over the shower! The bedroom was also uncomfortably warm with the air con set at 30 degrees Celsius. It was locked so that you could not turn it down below 16 degrees and it was therefore very difficult to get the room to cool down and we ended up sleeping with the windows open as far as they would allow, even though it was December this still left the room far too hot and made sleeping difficult. The pillows provided were wafer thin and when we asked for further pillows we were told they would not be available until the morning... In the morning following an unpleasant nights sleep we went downstairs for the included breakfast, the room was very cramped and I had to move my chair continually to let other guests past. The food was awful and, apart from the pre-packaged orange juice and cereal, was barely edible. In short; great location, tiny room, furnace like heating, unhelpful staff, terrible food and potentially lethal electrical wiring. Avoid.
