“odd but worth it”

This is an old, funky hotel but the management is super nice and the rooms are sooooooo quiet! Loved staying here. Sunday morning there was a tiny Farmer's Market just down the street and a little convenience store where you could get cash back from your ATM for $1.50 service charge. The coffee at the hotel was ghastly but not much more so than most places. The scones at breakfast were actually way better than most. I would stay here again.

“Perfect for what we needed”

Gigantic pretty oaks on the grounds. Quiet. Gas and food across the street. Probably in the 70s-80s it was a booming place! Staff pleasant. Wireless internet ok but not blazing fast. Library 100 yards away. We'd go back!

“Inexpensive Quiet Get-away”

The manager was pleasant and easy to deal with. We were happy to be able to bring our pet and get an additional day added to our stay with no problems. The continental breakfast was well beyond our expectations. We had an in-room safe available which we appreciated. There were open grounds in the back with trees which was very nice. The room was clean and roomy with a love-seat, refrigerator, microwave and coffee-maker. We stayed 2 days and were very happy with our stay. We would gladly stay here again. PS there was a mistake on the exit printout regarding the deposit liability, but the young man had no problem crossing it out, putting the correct amount in and initialing the change. You may have to check your computer printout for errors before you leave the desk. The hotel is a little out of the way, so you may want to get food etc. before you get there. There are many stores, one or two restaurants, and several fast food within 5 miles. Nothing within walking distance. On the plus side, it's quiet.

“Good price but old facility”

It is an old facility and we heard pipe noises all night but the location and price were very good.

“A great hideaway only a few hours from LA”

We were pleasantly surprised by how spacious the room was. We had chosen this hotel because it was on the way and inexpensive, so we weren't expecting much. We were happy to find we essentially had a little suite! There was a mini fridge and microwave in the room, a small sofa and coffee table to watch tv, a sliding door leading to the lawn and pool area. The bathroom is very small, but the room as a whole was a great value. The whole area is a bit run down, but clean. Plenty of dining options down the road in Lompoc. A great place to get away from it all for a few days.

“I'm sure this hotel serves a purpose, but not 4 me”

Arrived at the hotel at 8:50 pm to check in. The sign on the door says office hours from 2pm - 9pm and yet... it is totally locked up and dark. Only one other car in the parking lot and it actually looked like the hotel was closed. i used the phone for 'after hours" check in and talked to someone on the phone, he says he will send the manager right down. 15 min. later, he drives up and goes in the back way .... says the manager quit and he is filling in for a few days. in the room, there is only ONE towel, one wash cloth. It is booked as two adults. In the morning, I go to the front desk to get a second set of towels, but again, nobody is there. i call using the front desk phone, and the person says he will get someone on it. At that point, the phone from the maintenance man rings, and he is asked to go to a closet and get me some towels. Perhaps i am spoiled... but I expect that someone will be onsite to assist me when i stay at a hotel. At the very least they will prepared for my arrival and keep the office open the posted hours.

“So So”

This hotel was ok but pricy for what you get. Clean but old and run down like most hotels in the area. It could really use some updating and maintenance.

“Very Unhappy”

I saw the pictures of this Hotel on the Internet. Do not believe them. There is no lawn in front of the hotel just brush and dead weeds. The Restaurant is a joke. We waited 15 minutes for service and the Restaurant did not have half of the items that were on the menu. The place needs a coat of paint. The Hallway leading to the room has paint falling of the wall. The rooms are pleasant. But nothing to realy shout about. Check in was fast and the personel were nice. There are no restaurants in the area to eat sit down food. There are a few fast food places in the Mall across the street. But to have a really good dinner you must go into Downtown Lompoc. Looking at the pictures on the Web it looks like there is a beautiful grassy area in back of the Hotel with many Oak trees. This is really a joke. There is no grass anywhere by the trees. Just dead leaves and brush. A very big disappointment. Stay in Downtown Lompoc not here. You will be much happier.

“As terrifying as a horror movie, didn't even stay the night!!”

I'm shocked this hotel is still in business! This hotel did not even meet the minimum standards of cleanliness or quality. There were stains on the sheets, food and live & dead bugs on the floor, the tub did not drain at all, the doors looked like they had been broken into too many times, the room had a strange odor and the restaurant on the premises had been closed for some time - all that was left of it was bed sheets hung in place of the windows. All in all an atrocity, we chose to stay at Comfort Inn in Lompac instead... it was exceptional! White Oaks should be shut down.
