“A Comfortable, Convenient Stay”
Most things were excellent - friendliness and efficiency of hotel staff, breakfasts, restaurant meals, central location and free car parking. But the overheating of the bedrooms meant that we were too warm - the radiators weren't on, the only window that opened was open, we had the large fan working all night and the month was October - so goodness knows what it would be like in the summer months! Hope this will be corrected sometime soon because it was the only problem in an enjoyable stay.
“Extremly friendly & comfortable hotel in a central location.”
Our room was on the 3rd deck (floor) & was very comfortable. The room was tidy as you would expect & looked out over the railway station behind. The central location was ideal for shopping, sight-seeing & entertainment (theatre & pubs). Liverpool 1 was about a 5 minute walk away with Albert Dock just beyond that. Usually when staying at a city centre hotel I would expect to pay about £15 for car parking but the hotel has a decent sized car park next door which is free for their guests. I don't usually give top marks for anything, but on this occassion I have and can say that we will definatly be using The Liner again.
“Lovely Hotel”
We had a great stay at the Liner despite original hesitation about the 'theme'. The shipboard nautical connection and naming is not intrusive or off-putting at all. Fabulous location just around the corner from Lime Street Station and city centre attractions were all in easy walking distance. The room, sorry cabin, might have been compact but had all we needed and felt spacious. It was nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was well-organised, generous and delicious. We couldn't have asked for more, especially at the true value-for-money rates on offer. Go see the City of Culture and stay at the Liner!
“Good choice”
Very comfortable hotel, close to Lime Street station. Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Would stay there again.
“Nice hotel, strange check-in procedure?”
Very nice hotel, very clean & smart. The theme is supposed to make you feel as if you are on a ship (they call the floors 'decks' and the rooms 'cabins') but at no time did it feel like a ship, perhaps because it wasn't 'rolling'? :-) It's situated behind Lime street station and very close to the city centre. Despite what other reviews have said, the area didn't feel 'dodgy' at all. The breakfast was buffet style, usual stuff, exactly the standard I would expect from a 3 star, adequate but nothing special. We were warned by the receptionist to be very careful with the mini bar as everything is sat on a sensor and if you pick anything up it's automaticaly charged to you wether you take it or not. The prices were the usual mini-bar daft prices, we didn't touch it! On checking in I was told that they needed to take a swipe of my credit card in case of damage etc. fair enough, I've seen this done many times abroad. I handed over my card to be then asked to enter my pin. Why? I asked, We take a £50 deposit, was the answer. That's not quite the same as taking a swipe now is it? I get my £50 back on checkout? I asked. Oh yes, was the reply. On check out I asked about my £50, Oh it'll go back on your card in a few days, I was told. I haven't had my statement yet so I don't know if it has. I'm sure I won't have a problem but it seems a strange way to do business to me? I've stayed in lots of hotels in this country and quite a few in Eastern Europe and never seen this before?
“Excellent value and service”
Hotel is ideally situated with very helpful and friendly staff. The only slight niggle was the shower, where the temperature still seemed to fluctuate during its operation.
“Very comfortable hotel right in city centre”
Close to railway station and galleries. Staff very helpful.
“The Liner hotel review”
A very nice and easy experience. Was able to check in early, bit of a problem with room keys, but this was soon sorted. Breakfast the following morning was great. Staff very helpful and polite.
“Would recommend to anyone”
It was a great stay at this hotel, we turned up, got checked in straight away, we were also pleased that it was free parking and breakfast included. I also have to say about the politeness of the staff members. It was a lovely hotel and will most definitely be staying there again. Also as me and my partners are both smokers we thought this was perfect to be able to relax and not have to go outside for a cigarette. Overall excellent.
“great”
great, highly recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
