The hotel receptionists are very nice. But anything else, no way. The first room was a nightmare, not possible to open the windows. We changed it, but the 2nd was not much better; was not possible to closed the balcony door. The carpet was dirty and it smelled really damp, black mold in the shower. In short, never ever again this hotel because the price was not small at all.

Friendly helpful staff. Entire floor 3 was very musty smell, mold in shower, sink very slow to drain, and no switch for bedside lamp. Breakfast was nice and facilities for dining very nice.

Great location, friendly staff but smells a bit.
The hotel is in a good location right on the bus stop and an easy walk to the metro. This made it very easy to get around Lisbon. The staff mostly was very pleasant and helpful. We had our favorites. Unfortunately , the hallway and our room had a very unpleasant smell. Did not go away even with open windows. There was a problem with the fire suppressant system as it malfunctioned and we were unable to open our window due to water running down outside. Had to put up with room smell. Would stay there again but would check on the smell issue before paying for room.

The rooms are clean but not cozy. The bathroom is very nice and modern. No drinking glass in the room just paper cup. Overall a good hotel, walls in the hallway could use some paint.

Amazing Experience at Stay Hotel Lisboa
Given that it was my first time to visit Portugal, I was pleased to have picked the right hotel out of so many. If I come back, I will still book at the hotel. Yes, public transit is an added advantage! Last but not least, the staff are very professional. Thank you.

Enjoyable stay
Bed was very comfortable and location quiet at night so easy to sleep well. The service was good at reception and not too far from the main city attractions. Would rebook in the future. Good value for money.

The property was overall ok. It was going through significant remodeling on some floors which took away from the elegance. But, I had a fifth floor room with a nice view. Although I did not have A/C, the hotel staff gave me a functional fan which helped out a lot during the summer days.

Good for 1 night
The hotel is located in a spot that's accessible to public transportation and there are a lot of nice local businesses like restraunts and shops in the neighborhood. But the hotel was very run down and under construction. We couldn't even rest after our flight because of all the drilling and banging. The shower sprayed water absolutely everywhere and the design of the bathroom was terrible. The toilet was behind the door and the sink was directly in front of it. So you had to stand in the tub to close the bathroom door in order to get to the toilet. The staff was courteous enough. The sheets and towels were clean and bed was comfortable enough for 1 night. If we had been staying any longer, I would have asked to be relocated.

Old hotel so the building had character. The first room had mold on the walls by the window. I was moved to another room because of an odor. The second room seemed cleaner. Both rooms needed the shower tile grout scrubbed. The building has potential to be a really great boutique hotel.

Entire hotel had stench, especially in the room. The carpet was dingy and stained, smelled really old and offensive. Had to open the balcony doors that did not lock by the way, just to let it air out while I went to dinner so it would be tolerable for sleeping.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Not so happy with the room though...no AC so you have to leave the window open. Heavy traffic noise outside. Some flaking plaster on the walls. But the price is not bad and buses are just outside to take you to the sights in Lisbon.

The hotel was very well located, However, I hated my experience there. I was put on room that was dark, with no access to sunlight. The room was dirty and during the 3 days I was there they never changed the towels or the bedsheets. The room was dirty and at night there were insects and I have pictures to proof it. However, I’ll not post it, out of respect for some of the receptionist that were kind and respectful. However, I do want to mention that I was verbally insulted on the day I was leaving by one of the hotel employees.

Hotel was a bit far from the Metro stations. It's on top of a hill and we have to walk a lot to get there. The bathroom had a bad smell coming from the toilet pipes, shower handle was broken and hot water was not running in the night I stayed there. There was not a small refrigerator in the room and the mattres was a bit dirty.

The most horrible. Experience. The smell was awful. We we're afraid to step on carpet because it was so dirty. Laps did not work or broken. The shower in any public space is much better, and so on...

Staff friendly & helpful, hotel was disgraceful. Needs to close down & redecorate from top to bottom to replace flaking paintwork & missing plaster that has fallen from the walls. Add extra electric sockets to rooms, 1 is not enough, repair late 19th. early 20th. century lift that & staircase could be a good feature if kept in good repair, also repair Air Con. in rooms so as not to have try to sleep with windows open on busy road. These comments are from someone who has worked in the Catering trade for 50 years, over 1/2 in Hotels.

If you were looking for something luxurious, then this place is not for you. However, if you're looking for a fairly priced hotel with a central location then you might consider this hotel. The hotel was worn, but relatively clean and well-maintained. It did have a certain European charm. The low point was the continental breakfast, which had very few offerings, and most of the items were low quality. For the seven euros they charge, I would recommend grabbing a quick bite to eat at one of the local cafés or bakeries located within a few blocks. This hotel is perfect for me, as I was traveling alone and on a budget. I didn't have anyone to impress, and it's convenience, affordability, and location made it an excellent choice.

Good location but room lacked comfort
This hotel is conveniently located near a bus stop which we used to access Lisbon and Sintra. It does not have air conditioning, it had a minor sewer odor, and we were charged for breakfast after we were told it was complimentary. The Manager was friendly and offered to store our bikes but the room was disappointing and we likely could have had a better stay for the same cost.

Very tired looking hotel
Very basic hotel which would with more then just the lock of paint. Obvious dump problem. We had only 1 socket in the whole room. Very noisy because of the busy roads around. Basic breakfast. Good thing was the connection to city centre and nice and polite staff.

Arriving from Metro Station meant an UPHILL walk........I learnt by experience it can be avoided by using bus 760 from Maritim!! Or walk a shallower hill for 20mins (".) The staff were very helpful, especially when I found out the air-con wasn't functional - they got me a fan to use because even in late Spring, the room was a bit warm for me. The room itself felt a bit cramped due to a disproportionately large bed.......it was at least quite comfortable!! The place did look a bit tired. What I was very pleasantly surprised by was being given a bottle of mineral water EACH day; it was always left on the desk!! I should ask if other hotels should do this ;p My biggest gripe was being stuck outside the hotel waiting for reception ~2.30am ("_) Apparently the 4th alert buzzer didn't work and their phones don't have a pager type function

We were told that new administration took over on 21 December. So they are still coming to grips with what they inherited After a poor first night the hotel moved us without quibble to a better room with a plug for the washbasin (important if you wear contact lenses!) and supplied extra pillows and a room heater. We visited in an exceptionally cold January, so the freezing temperatures were not expected. The hot water supply was not sorted out whilst we were there so the shower was lukewarm at best, But the place was beautifully clean, the staff friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast food with fresh fruit, lovely bread and pastries , though the coffee could have been hotter.
