“It was wonderful”

I had chosen this hotel after considering some of the reviews on travel sites, this one included. I arrived at the airport in Lisbon @6:00 am, and while having a cup of coffee took out all the helpful hints that I had printed from the reviews. Since I just had a backpack, I decided to start my sight seeing right away. I took the #1 airport bus, and for a little more than 2 euros got a ticket that was good for 24 hours. So I explored the city, hiked around and had some more coffee. The streets were a little tricky to navigate with the map I had, but when it was time to check in I aimed for the Gulbenkian Museum, and found the hotel, no problem as the street is right by the museum, just hike around the wall, if you are lost, you will find it. Nice area, lots of coffee shops, apartments, a couple of gift shops and restaurants. The room itself was a small, cozy and perfectly fine. The bathroom was a bit smelly, but just a bit, wasn't a big issue. The buffet breakfast, which was included in the cost of the room, I thought was fantastic. My favorite food was the cut oranges, scrambled eggs and nutty wheat bread. Yum! The hotel is right by the Sao Sebastian train station. There are different colors of train lines, and it looks a bit confusing at first, but it isn't, the transfer points are easy to navigate, and traveling on the subway was fast. You can get a 24 hour pass for under 5 euros and that is good for all the transports, train, bus tram.

“hotel sympa un peu à l'écart”

très proche d'une station de métro cet hotel est très agréable et propre, les chambres conformes aux photosdiffusées sur le site. Les petits déjeuners sont copieux et variés.

“Great value for money”

Check in to the hotel was quick and friendly. Our room was clean and quiet. From the hotel it's a 10 min ride on the metro or if you want to walk it's about 45 minutes into town. There is a park 2 minutes from the hotel with a modern art centre & a museum in it and some good restaurants in the neighbouring streets. Breakfast was included in the hotel price and was a good way to start the day. The hotel was great value for money and was a 12 euro cab ride from the airport for us.

“Very Good Value”

Good value for the price - comfortable - quiet part of town, very pleasant. El Cortez Inglez department store nearby - excellent for food shopping. Certainly recommend. One tip for Lisbon though is to avoid the Lisboa Cards which are poor value for money. Lovely town though and hotel a good choice for the cost.

“Great location, good food, FBI on staff”

Everything was great with the hotel except the staff during breakfast were policing the food and everyone that came in or out of that room.

“Cheep but very nice and clean Hotel”

lovely hotel near Edward 7th park and on doorstep of El Corte Ingles and Gulbenkian museum. 5 minutes ride from the city centre( or a leisurely 40 minute walk)staff at the reception very helpful, very good price, lovely comfortable beds. there was a lovely restaurant La Finestra right next door to this hotel, we ended up eating there every night of our stay(people queing for tables. try the Scallopine alla Finestra, lovely). for breakfast you can choose a bufes at the hotel, but we opted for a cafe where locals go - Confeitaria Valbom just across the road from the hotel(coffee and croisant for 2 adults for under 4euros!!!)

“Gil H”

Having arrived on January 1, 2012, and most of Lisbon resting. The staff gave me directions to cafes that were open and all within walking distance. The hotel breakfast buffet looked outstanding. I was sorry that I did not include it in my stay. Sergio, the bar tender is very knowledgeable on the area and pours a good libation. Metro transportation and the avenue Libertad are all within walking areas. There are a few hills for those that have problems walking.
